Using a
basic Challenger 604, Bombardier sent a specially gold-plated jet for
Santa to use free of charge, in hopes of a future series of sales to other
high profile clients. Initially, the Elf safety inspectors were unsure as
to the viability of a gold plated plane, being as the runway at the North
Pole had sunk due to icecap melting, and the replacement runway was noticeably
shorter. However, a series of tests revealed the plane would
meet all requirements, and it became the latest acquisition for the North
pole fleet. Given the latest name for Santas' delivery flights,
SantaXpress, a highly successful flight is expected on Dec 24th.
The
kits was the Revell Germany 1/144 scale Challenger 604, a nice little, and
I mean LITTLE kit. Nothing weird or unusual was done, except to paint it
Tamiya Gold and apply the custom, home-made decals.
