1/72 Revell Spitfire Vb

by Jia Wei Lim

--------------------

This is my not-so-recent build, a Spitfire Vb built totally OOB (including decals), with the exception for an antenna which I broke off by accident. The kit was pretty good, some neat panel lines, with parts that fit ok. There were some comments about a lack of gull wing effect, which is quite true, but it doesn't show much, unless you see it from the top. This is my best effort so far, but I doubt that it can match most of what I can find in ARC.  At least it looks like a Spit.

This is my first successful attempt at airbrushing camo freehand, which went on well except for the green from an old Humbrol tinlet which seemed reluctant to cooperate.  Weathering was done using a pastel wash and some pastel dusting.

I would like to take this chance to thank all the fellas in ARC Forums which helped me and tolerated my questions.  Also, thanks to Steve Bamford for maintaining such an amazing website.
