1/48 Italeri A-10

I admit I love A-10'S, so when I got the news that Italeri will make a new A-10 I was excited.  But the kit has its faults so an old Monogram kit was cannibalized as a correction and detail set.  The engine intakes are from the Monogram kit.  The Monogram cockpit needed some surgery to fit.  The nose shape was wrong so it was reshaped, and the Monogram windshield was installed.  All the formation light strips were added, the landing gear booms ends were replaced with ends from Monogram. All the gear doors were from the Monogram as they had better shape and detail parts. The kit landing gear was detailed with the wiring and the Monogram canopy and ladder was installed.

The Litening Pod is from Isracast and the GBU 12 from Hasegawa weapon set.  The MK 82 bomb fuses were scratched build.  The communication pod was converted from a Hasegawa pod.

The Monogram antennas have better shape and base detail and were used.

Humbrol paints were used with pastels and oil color for watering.

No A-10 is completed without a shark mouth paint gob so Twobobs decal no. 48057 was used.
