I decided to write
this article since several emails arrived on discrete freqs after I posted
my WIP in the ARC forum. I had the article ready, but for some reason I waited
and waited and waited...sorry.
The starting
kit is the well-known Italeri SH-60B in 1/48 scale. I added the Cobra co.
conversion, Eduard PE, Hawkeye decals and tons of styrene sheets and rods.
The main difficult was finding detailed pics of the interiors and
exteriors since the J version is very different from the USN heli (thanks ARC!
Thanks Internet!). Photos will tell you the works I made on this helicopter.
I
spend some months on this time consuming project and I had the following
problems: panel instrument (I modified it in order to lower it), glue
left and right fuselage was a true nightmare, tons of putty was necessary.
I
remade 4 the seats twice since I was not satisfied with them, finding the
correct shape and dimension of the nose radar. After all I'm very satisfied
about this unique project. I hope you like this not so common heli. Many thanks
for your attention dedicated to my Jayhawk and if you want to see more military
photos I took or my models please click here: www.ma-files.it
