1/48 Tamiya Swordfish Mk 1

Hello.

This time a kit built "from the box", or close, the wonderful Tamiya Swordfish.  Even if this kit is a wonder, it is not for beginners, biplane aircraft are never simple.  Here are the different mounting steps:

A, B and C: The cockpit is quite full, just mount it carefully, paint it and you will obtain something particularly realistic.  The engine is of a similar quality.

D: The only really missing feature: the cables on the rear that have to be added.

E: I chose to create flat tires, I know I did exaggerate the effect, but it shows that you don't need to buy resin kit to obtain realistic wheels.

F: The second default of the kit: the 2 lights on the lower wing are not realistic and have been corrected

Painting:

I chose the aluminium paint scheme of the box that we don’t often see, but of course as I am afraid of the big decal, I painted quite everything. So the model is first painted in black, then the light grey, then I used Tamiya X11. Now it's time for a pretty long phase to obtain  something realistic.

H: On the raised detail, position a small piece of scotch tape

I: Then with the fine air brush pin, paint with a darker aluminium color around these stripes.

J: then again paint with the original aluminium color to smooth the effect

K: then finish the weathering with a juice, dark on the light grey and the aluminium, pale grey on the black

That’s it, it took me a little bit more that one month to built it
