This softcover book from
HT Model Magazine
is devoted to the Panavia Tornado IDS, ECR, Gr Mk1, Gr Mk4. This is a soft cover
book made from heavy weight glossy magazine paper, so it will hold up
well to continued use. The cover....(although a soft cover) is
made from thick glossy paper and will hold together well. The book
is produced in Slovakia, so it is written in the Slovak language and
comes with 2 pages in English to
translate the main introduction text of
the book, but the true beauty and value of this book
is it's detailed walkaround photos and side profile artwork images.
The Panavia
Tornado was built by a German, British and Italian joint venture that
dates back to 1965 and the final 2 seat version was completed in 1972.
This
book has a large selection of photos......15 B&W photos and
374colour glossy photos. There are also 35 beautifully done colour
profiles of various British, German and Italian Tornados......I've included one colour
profile below to give you a feel. The photos in this book focus on
most if not all the detail areas that modellers are obsessed with. Lots of
colour photos of cockpit, ejection seat, engine (in and out of aircraft)
and engine plumbing, intake ducts, flying surfaces, avionic bays,
landing gear and landing gear bays, radar bay, fuel probe, fuel drop
tanks and weapons loads and much more. You also get photos of the
complete Tornado in various paint schemes and close up shots of the most
if not all of the airframe seems like the whole airframe is covered).
This book is very complete.

The 35 colour profiles are single
side views with the large selection showing the 4 views of camo paint schemes
used by various airforces at different points in history. Below
I've include a tiny selection of some of the pages....out of respect to the
producers of this fine book, I am not providing larger scans.

This book is a super detailers
dream.
I'm quite impressed
with the quality of this book and I look forward to other
editions from this company. I recommend this book to all modellers
planning
on building a Tornado and especially to modellers planning on building a super
detailed Tornado. I am quite pleased to add this book to my library.....it will
prove to be a very helpful book in my reference library. Special thanks to the folks at
HT
Model Magazine for the review sample and bringing this book to my attention.
