This new resin set from
Cutting
Edge Modelworks will permit you to correct the Forward Fuselage/Canopy/Fin
on the Trumpeter RA-5C Vigilante.
The front fuselage
on the 1/48 Trumpeter RA-5C Vigilante
kit has shape issues including being
too wide and not having the "mae west" or "double bubble"
shape along the bottom of the canopy and spine. This set not only corrects
these shape problems but Cutting
Edge Modelworks went one step further and included a clear cast windscreen, pilot's canopy, and rear cockpit
cover and a correct pitot tube to fit our fuselage.
This kit also has problems with the upper vertical fin and this part is
included to replace the too-short and misshapen kit part.
This set is required if you want to correct BOTH the early (Dash 8) and late (Dash 10)
variants of the RA-5C. The clear resin canopy parts are flawless and a
treat to behold.
This set includes one page of
instructions with photos that help you as you complete this project.
One thing I appreciate about Cutting
Edge Modelworks sets is that the areas that need to be trimmed by the
cockpit windows are very thin and will be easy to remove.

Resin casting
is of a very high quality and all the detail is very well done with no air
bubbles.
This
new resin set from Cutting
Edge Modelworks will be a welcome set for those wishing to correct the
shape of their 1/48 Trumpeter RA-5C Vigilante kit.
The correct intakes with full intake throats are
available separately in sets CEC48487 (early version) and CEC48488 (late
version).
I would like to
thank Cutting Edge
Modelworks for providing me with this review sample.
