This

Hammer Decals
includes markings for
four different 1/48 SBD-1 Dauntless in the colourful pre-war paint
schemes.
The
first aircraft is a U.S. Marines SBD-1 with VMB-2 Squadron Commanders
aircraft based at Quantico, Virginia in 1940. The paint scheme for this aircraft is overall baremetal
with a red engine cowl ring and a red rear fuselage band. The
rudder is red/white/blue and the topside of the wings are yellow with
red stripes. The artwork on the side of the fuselage consist of a
USMC emblem. Code letters on the side of the fuselage are 2-MB-1.
The
second aircraft is
a U.S. Marines SBD-1 5th
Section Leader with VMB-2 based at Quantico, Virginia in late
1940. The paint scheme for this aircraft is overall baremetal
with a green engine cowl ring and a green rear fuselage band. The
rudder is red/white/blue and the topside of the wings are yellow with
red stripes. The artwork on the side of the fuselage consist of a
USMC emblem. Code letters on the side of the fuselage are 2-MB-13.

third aircraft is

Section Leader with VMB-1 based at Quantico, Virginia in the spring of
1941. The paint scheme for this aircraft is overall baremetal
with a white engine cowl ring and a white rear fuselage band. The
rudder is red/white/blue and the topside of the wings are yellow with red
stripes. The artwork on the side of the fuselage consist of a USMC
emblem. Code letters on the side of the fuselage are 1-MB-4.
The
fourth aircraft is a
U.S. Marines SBD-1 3rd Section Leader with VMB-1 based at
Quantico, Virginia in the spring of 1941. The paint scheme for this aircraft is overall baremetal
with a blue engine cowl ring and a blue rear fuselage band. The
rudder is red/white/blue and the topside of the wings are yellow with red
stripes. The artwork on the side of the fuselage consist of a USMC
emblem. Code letters on the side of the fuselage are 1-MB-7.
The instructions are clear
and include views of each aircraft and an extra 2 pages of text
instructions with a small bit of info about all 4 planes as well as
helpful tips for decal application. The decals are beautifully printed on 2 decal sheets.
One complete set of stencils is included along with a tail hook stripe
decal and prop tip stripes in decal form.
Also
included are painting masks for the wing chevrons and rudder
stripes if you chose not to use the rudder decals. A
very nice decal sheet of
the colourful pre-war Dauntless.
