--------------------

This new Limited Edition 1/48 decal sheet from Fightertown Decals includes markings for 4 different VX-9 Det Point Mugu in the late nineties up through their Tomcat retirement in 2004 all on this one decal sheet.

This decal sheet includes landing gear, ejection seat, helmet and patches decals....plus intake covers and airframe details and even decals for doing the black recesses areas of the exhaust burner cans.  I wish more manufacturers would include full decals for the landing gear and other areas on our models such as the ejection seats.  Also there is a second insert decal sheet containing the formation lights.

There is a long list of people that helped on this sheet including Brian "Oompa" Marbrey, Mike "Strokes" Pister, John Bibay, Craig Kaston, Janie Hughes, Chop, Salty, and the rest of VX-9 and  Andy Mullen and Thomas "Fury".  Well done Guys!!!

The first aircraft is a F-14D Vandy 1 BUNO 164604 in 2004.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is FS 17038  with a black FS 37038anti-glare panel in-front and behind the canopy.  This is the classic Gloss  Black Tomcat with a  big white Playboy bunny on the tails.  The tails have red/white/blue stripes with stars on the stripes.

The second aircraft is a F-14D Vandy 254 BUNO 164599 in 2004.  The paint scheme for this aircraft is FS 35237 on top and FS 36320 on the underside with a black anti-glare panel in-front and behind the canopy.  The vertical tails, ventral fins are flat black FS 17038.

The third aircraft is a F-14D Vandy 241 BUNO 163226 in 2003The paint scheme for this aircraft is FS 35237 on top and FS 36320 on the underside with a black anti-glare panel in-front and behind the canopy.  The vertical tails, ventral fins are flat black FS 17038.

The fourth aircraft is a F-14D Vandy 240 "White Whale" BUNO 161862 in 1999The paint scheme for this aircraft is overall Gloss Gull Gray FS 16440 with additional parts painted in FS 36375.  The vertical tails, ventral fins are flat black FS 17038.

There is a long list of people that helped on this sheet that reads like a who's who of ARC members.  Special thanks goes to Mike "Strokes" Pister, Brian "Oompa" Marbrey, John Bibay, Craig Kaston, Janie Hughes, Chop, Salty and theb rest of the VX-9, Andy Mullen and Thomas "Fury".  Well done Guys!!!

The instructions are clear and include 3 views of each aircraft and information about what weapons loads and fuel tanks to use and where to mount them on your F-14.  The decals are beautifully printed on 1 large decal sheet and 2 small insert decal sheets and include a walkway template to assist painting.  The quality of the decals is first rate......you will not be disappointed. .  The quality of the decals is first rate.

A very complete decal sheet for these classic F-14's.
