I am back with some more samples of Rising Decals. This time the subjects are allied aircraft. The "Yankee Spitfires" Corsica & Italy, 1943-1944 decal sheet in 1/72 scale is sold under product number RD 72019. This small sheet offers decals for 4 Spitfires of 52nd FG.

  •   1. Spitfire Mk.Vc trop. from 4th FS, 52nd FG flown by 1st Lt. John  Blythe. This aircraft   carries a Texas Flag and name Helen Louise (Crew Chiefs girlfriend) on the starboard side.

  •   2.  Spitfire Mk.IXc (early) from 5th FS, 52nd FG. This aircraft is former RAF High Altitude fighter in Medium Sea Grey and PRU Blue camo scheme.

  •   3. Spitfire Mk.Vc from 5th FS, 52nd FG flown by Lt. John Anderson who downed 2 Me 109s on 15th Feb.1944 (decal with kill marks included). Aircraft carries unusual three-toned camo scheme - this is one colorful Spitfire!

  •   4. Spitfire Mk.IXc (early) from 4th FS, 52nd FG seen in Corsica in January 1944. This plane was also flown by F/O Bob Hoover (famous post war display pilot).

Here is list of few distributors/retailers: www.hannants.co.uk, www.flightdecs.ca or directly www.risingdecals.com

As usual - job well done! Mirek Karnik has done it again, research well worth the effort.
