REVI is a well
know Aviation magazine from the Czech Republic. Since their humble beginnings
they grew and despite many challenges, they recently issued their #80
magazine. In addition to their magazines there are decals and also books in
their line of products. Following is one of their latest.
The title
Messerschmitt Bf 110, Volume 1 - C,D,E variants clearly describes what's
inside of this 104 page book, but it deserves more detailed description than
that. A small note in the book also indicates that work on following Volume has
already begun.
This publication is
a collective work of Martin Lebl, Petr Tomancak and others.
The book is a
softcover and is printed on high quality gloss paper. The text is in
English.
The main part of
this publication are superb technical drawings by Martin Lebl - there are
total of 57 pages of his "work of art". 23 pages are in 1/72 scale
and 34 pages in 1/48 scale. As Martin mentions in the book, this was an
enourmous project and to make the drawings as accurate as possible, 3D
modelling was used. And the results are truly amazing! (BTW: Eduard utilized
this 3D model as the base for their 1/48 kit).
In 1/72 scale you
will find in this book following variants of Bf 110: C-1, C-1/B, C-2, C-3,
C-2/B, C-4, C-5, C-6, C-7, D-0, D-0/B, D-1, D-2, D-3, D-4, E-1, E-2 and E-3.
In 1/48 scale:
C-1, D-3 and E-2.
Following 10 pages
in section named Structure Details are reprints of original Messerschmitt
Manuals. Total of 39 original pages in fairly small size (4 per book page) but
in great quality.
There are 27
b&w photos (several of them were not previously published) and 10 color
photos all reprinted in superb quality.
There are total of
13 outstanding color profiles - again, Martin Lebl's work, printed on 8
pages.

Next 10 pages
are dedicated to The Father fo the Night Fighters: Wolfgang Falck. His life
story, many photos and 2 color profiles are also included.
2 pages of this book are also dedicated to plastic model kits of this popular Luftwaffe Twing Engine Aircraft listing all the models ever available on the market from 1/144 scale to 1/32 scale. It is very interesting that first kit of Bf 110C was issued shortly after the end of WW II - in 1946!
I must highly recommend this book to any plastic modeller interested in Luftwaffe Aircraft as well as to any WW II Aircraft Enthusiast!
REVI also produces decal sheets Luftwaffe Experten Volume 1 in two popular scales (1/72 & 1/48), where you can find both of the Wolfgang Falck's aircraft (profiles are in this publication). There is a review of these decals in ARC archives.
