This latest release from Lifelike Decals features four different Spitfire's.  This is Part 1 of  a series dealing with the Spitfire and the aircraft on this sheet are from 1946 to September 1948 and includes RAF machines and Belgian Spitfires.

The 4 aircraft on this decal sheet include the following:

  • Spitfire LF Mk XVIe, SL721 flown by Air Marshall Sir James Robob with the Fighter Command Communication Squadron, Northolt between February to July of 1948.  This Spitfire is overall light blue.

  • Spitfire LF Mk XVI LF, TB900 flown by Squadron Leader Raymond A.F. Lallemant with the RAF No. 349 (Belgium) Squadron, Fassburg/Germany in 1946.  This Spitfire has rooster head artwork, kill markings and the script that reads "Winston Churchill".

  • Spitfire LF Mk XVI LF, TD231 of No. 350 Squadron with the Belgium AF, Fassburg/Germany in 1946.

  • Spitfire LF Mk XVI LF, TE199 flown by Air Officer Commander of RAF No. 21 Group, Swinderby AB in September of 1948.  This Spitfire is black overall  with a yellow spinner.

The quality of these decals is of very good.  The decals themselves are clearly printed and in perfect register.  Some decals come in 2 layers to ensure perfect registration.  The instructions are clear and you do get a page that has 4 view line drawings showing stencil placement.  This decal sheet also includes one set of stencils.

It's good to see these post war Spitfires and this sheet will give the the ability to build either a Belgian or RAF Spitfire.
