First look.
There are two new update sets from A.M.U.R.Reaver. They are made to add some important details for Hasegawa’s F-14 Tomcat, but definitely can be used also for recent Hobby Boss F-14 release. Hasegawa’s Tomcats are the great models but lacks some features introduced during long Tomcat’s life. All modern military planes are constantly upgraded to keep their performance on date, but model manufacturers obviously unable to follow them. These PE upgrades help modelers to keep fit their little Cats and add more sharp look to them.

Set 48002 contains details for F-14D and 48003 for F-14A. The main aim for A.M.U.R.Reaver was to add details totally ignored by other manufacturers. Sets are similar but differ by specific details inherent in a particular modification. All grills and meshes such as boundary layer outlets with proper number (left has nine, right has ten), spacing and angles of ribs; air conditioning system meshes and fans, gun ventilation grill and NASA intakes are presented.

Smart way is to make whole nose gear doors with small ventilation grills in one piece. Frame also includes frets to cut openings for some small grilled vents and shapes for additional antenna housing. Another feature is inlet guide vanes given in proper number either for F-14D and F-14A (17 and 23 for each engine respectively). Some variations of small reinforcement plates are included .

As it may be A.M.U.R.Reaver provides us with small, but important things to make small aircraft closer to original.
