"The Huns Are Here!
  The Huns Are HERE!"

Oct 18 2007

Finally, after the world's longest gestation period, the new Cutting Edge 1/32 F-100D Super Sabre decal sets are here and shipping now!

I'm really pressed for time right now and I'll send you more info on these new sheets a bit later (and we received a bunch more new stuff), but here they are:

CED32087

F-100D-65-NA, 56-3000 "Triple Zilch," Col Raymond Toliver, 20th TFW Wing Commander, RAF Wethersfield, Essex, England, Late 1957. This is the best-documented of the several various markings schemes applied to Triple Zilch over its lifetime.

CED32088

F-100D-25-NA, 55-3637, 20th TFW, RAF Wethersfield, UK. This is the beautiful silver-painted jet with the large red/yellow/blue lightning bolts on the fuselage and fin, and the red/yellow/blue bands around the nose. This was one of the most-requested schemes in our F-100 survey!

CED32089

F-100D-55-NH, 56-2942 "Sizzlin' Suzie," 35 TFW/352 TFS, Phan Rang AB, RVN, 1970 (SEA camouflage); F-100D-90-NA, 56-3285 "Pretty Penny," 27 TFW/481 TFS, Tan Son Nhut AB, RVN, June 1965 (silver paint scheme). "Pretty Penny" was named after Lt Gerry Salome's wife and the artwork was painted by Lt Pete Vanderhoef. Both pilots flew this jet during 1965.

CED32090

F-100D-50-NH, 55-2901 "Colleen," Lt Joe Vincent, 31 TFW/309 TFS, Tuy Hoa, RVN, Spring 1970 (SEA camouflage scheme); F-100D-25-NA, 55-3604, "skull," Lt Col Harold "Bunny" Comstock, 27 TFW/481 TFS Commander, Bien Hoa, RVN, July 1966 (silver paint scheme); F-100D-20-NA, 55-3580 "Mary Jane/Carol Ann," Maj Don Schmenk, 31 TFW/308 TFS, Late 1969 (SEA camouflage scheme). Comstock' "skull" jet displays seven iron cross kill symbols from his WW II kills. Schmenk's "Mary Ann" includes both early and late versions of the crew data blocks and tail markings.

* POSTING COMMENTS TO MY BLOG:

I've received several questions about how to post a comment on my blog.

  1. First, I LOVE it when you take the time to post your thoughts and information to my blog! YES, please post!
  2. Second, my blog is moderated (by me) so there will be a slight delay before your comment appears. I've only refused one comment, which was a personal question that I answered direct to the contributor. Needless to say, the reason my blog is moderated is that I'm extremely happy to receive comments (positive or negative) that have real content. I'm NOT happy to receive comments (which luckily, so far, I have not) that are typical of some of the BS'ing we see on the modeling websites. In a nutshell, if you have something useful to say, please say it! If you have a criticism, you're welcome to say that too, but you need to document your position.
  3. You've told me again and again that you trust me, and Meteor, to get things "right." I am very grateful for your trust and will continue to work very hard to ensure we continue to earn it! One thing I'm determined to do (besides doing my best to keep my blog interesting and fresh) is to ensure that you will never waste your time reading anything posted there.
  4. OK, on to "how to post." First, DO NOT click the "Login" button in the upper right corner just under the header graphic (the airplanes). I wish this button was not there, because it's actually only for me to log onto my site for administrative purposes.
  5. If you didn't understand #4, know this: if your browser page changes to all white with a blue box in the middle headed by a "Circle W," you've clicked the wrong button! Back out of that page and go back to my blog.
  6. Posting is VERY simple, as long as you click the right button. Comments are specific to individual posts, so simply scroll to the bottom of the post you want to talk about and find the gray "Comments" button that is immediately after the "Posted by Admin" label.
  7. When you click the "Comments" button you'll be taken to a new page that again shows the article you want to comment on. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the article and you'll see the area you'll fill in to add your comment. You'll fill in the following items:
  1. Name (I REQUIRE you to 'fess up to who you are. I will not post anonymous comments or ones that do not include your full name.
  2. Mail (your email; again, I will not post anonymous comments, and in any case I may need to contact you with questions, feedback, etc.) YOUR EMAIL WILL NOT BE PUBLICLY POSTED ON THE BLOG, unless you include it in the text of your comment.
  3. Website (it's OK to leave this blank if you wish)
  4. Type your specific comments into the big box at the bottom.
  5. You may preview your comment by clicking the "Preview" button; otherwise just click the "Post" button.
  6. That's all there is to it!
  7. I'll review your comments within a few hours. So far, I've been pretty good at checking the blog every few hours, but sometimes I'm on the road or otherwise occupied, but in general you should see your comment posted within a day or so-hopefully sooner.

OK, just jump on over to my blog now to check out the Ju 87 info and all the previous posts on upcoming projects, industry news, etc.!
