For Information:
The Supermarine Scimitar F.1 was a single-seat jet fighter-bomber that saw operational service with the "Fleet Air Arm" of the ROYAL
NAVY. This model covers the early production version with its much rounder nose.
This model includes: a highly detailed cockpit and the option to have flaps retracted or fully lowered, as well as open or closed air
brake petals [note: folded wings require addition detailing set - CMR72-DS06]. The aircraft examples included, cover operational
service of the Scimitar F.1 from 1957 to 1960 - shore-based with the 'Scimitar Intensive Flying Trials Unit', the first commissioned
Scimitar Squadron No.803, plus development aircraft. Also included is the pale blue and white aircraft used for 'Weapons Trials' with
RAE between 1964/65.
A selection of appropriate payloads for the respective periods are included such as:
'Palouste' Portable Air Starter; 150 & 200 Gallon Drop Tanks; 25lb. & 28lb. Practice Bombs and Carrier; plus Weapons Pylons (3 types).
