Moises Ballester starts today is style with his 1/48 Trumpeter JF-17 Thunder.  Moises has a  talent for weathering and you will see that on his Pakistani Trumpeter JF-17 Thunder.  I love the look of this model. 

Shawn "phantom" Weiler joins use today with another of his great looking Canadian bare metal Mustangs.  This is his 1/48 Tamiya P-51 Mustang finished off with Leading Edge decals using the West coast squadrons decal sheet for a fighter with 403 out of Calgary Alberta.

Ulysses Almeida joins us from Brazil with a very rare aircraft model.  This is his 1/48 Classic Airframes Gloster Meteor T7 two seat trainer finished in the markings for a Brazilian aircraft using decals from FCM.  This is a cool looking jet and it's great to see it in Brazilian markings complete with noseart.

Dominican Republic Independence Day

Pablo Santos joins us from Spain with his 1/72 Academy A-10 Thunderbolt II.  Pablo has finished his Warthog in one of the coolest looking camo schemes and the look of the finished model is fantastic.

Es-haq Khosravi joins us from Iran wiht 3 very well know vehicles from WW1.  This is the 1/72 Academy WWII Ground Vehicle Set all looking excellent and ready to be placed next to a 1/72 aircraft. 

Bartosz Piotrowski joins us today with 2 of his Mustangs that were flown by Polish pilots during WW2.  These are his 1/72 Academy Mustang B & D complete with weathering and a very well done finish.

Kuwait Liberation Day 

Mohammad Adl joins us from Iran with his very attractive looking 1/48 Academy F-16A/C.  Mohammad built his F-16 with  weathering and a full weapons load as an Israeli jet.  This is one very good looking F-16 model....well done Mohammad. 

Colin Latta has done a stunning job on the 1/48 Eduard Fw-190A-5 Weekend kit.  Colin added Eduard photo etch to the cockpit and and then added a large selection of scratchbuilt details to dress up the detail further.  All this was finished off with a weathered camo paint job.

Arne Goethe is here with his show stopping 1/72 Trumpeter Tupolev Tu-22 M3.  Arne added a huge amount of aftermarket detail items as well as his own scratchbuilt detailing to take his Tu-22 to a while new level.  The crew access ladder is a work of art all by itself.  Enjoy reading his article and viewing the photos of this amazing model.

Kitt Janpayom has been busy detailing the cockpit on his Israeli 1/48 Hasegawa F-4E Phantom Kurnass 2000.  Kitt added resin ejection seats from Aires as well as cockpit photo etch from Eduard and then finished his model in one of those very attractive Israeli camo schemes and a full weapons load with drop tanks.

José Alvarez is here with one of the sexiest airliners that ever flew.  This is his 1/144 Revell Super Constellation with plenty of added details.  José gave his airliner a flawless paint job and markings for TWA (Trans World Airlines)....such a beautiful airliner. 

John Smalbrugge is here with a special plane from history.  This is his wonderfully finished 1/32 Trumpeter P-51B Mustang II Tuskegee "Red Tails" P-51C in all it's glory.  John got the markings from Warbird Decals.

Artur Oslizlo/Arkady72 gets things started with style with his wonderfully weathered 1/48 Eduard Profipack Yakovlev Yak-3.  I loved the faded paint and weathering job Artur did on his Yak-3.

Tom Valaoras has taken the resin 1/72 Anigrand Craftworks Martin YP6M-1 Sea Master and added quite a few extra detail items to create his Sea Master diorama.  Tom was also busy scratchbuilding items for his model.  There is a load of tiny details to enjoy in Tom's diorama.

Lyle Brown is here today with his artwork Two Spits.  There is no doubt about it.....the Spitfire looks good from any angle.

Shawn "phantom" Weiler gets things started today with his 1/48 Hasegawa P-51 Mustang.  Shawn went with a baremetal finish and markings from Leading Edge decals for a RCAF Mustang and I'm pleased to say he has also included photos of his other Canadian Mustangs.

Jean-Charles Goddet is here with a very famous 1/72 Hasegawa Boeing F-15D Baz.  This particular Israeli F-15 is the one that was involved in a mid-air collision and lost a huge part of one wing but still landed safely.  Jean-Charles tells more of the history of this particular jet as well as what was involved to build a model of it.

Dragan Cvetic is here with his beautifully done 1/72 Hobby Boss Mil Mi-4.  Dragan did a careful job of shading and weathering his Mi-4 and then finished it off with Yugoslav Air Force decals from Balkan Models.  Very nicely done Dragan.

Steve Negley starts today with the classic 1/48 Monogram Grumman F-14A Tomcat done up in the more colorful scheme from the USS Enterprise from 1974 using CAM decals.  Steve rescribed some panel lines and showed that this classic kit does build into a very nice model with a bit of patience.   

Ian Foulkes is here with a very special Spitfire today.....this is his 1/32 PCM Spitfire Mk IXc done up in true style taking advantage of all the extra detail parts included in this kit.  Then Ian gave it full weathering and a full set of D-Day stripes and the markings for the famous RAF Ace "Johnnie" Johnson.  It is a special treat to see the PCM kit built and on ARC.    

Donn A. Wells MD has dropped by today with a very sharp looking 1/72 Hasegawa F11F "Tiger".  Donn added missiles and drop tanks to complete his model and then finished his Tiger in colorful markings.  I love the look of Donn's Tiger.

James Ward has gone the extra mile detailing his 1/48 Hasegawa F-4E Phantom.  James added plenty of aftermarket detail items from Eduard, Quickboost and Hobby Decal plus some added scratchbuilt detailing to the cockpit including a scratch-built HUD.  All this was followed up with a flawlessly weathered SEA camo scheme and finished off with Aeromaster decals that include noseart. 

Dan Farnham is here with a couple of photos he took of an Underwater F4U-1A Corsair.  These photos would be a fantastic diorama idea.

Michal Sekula has done some excellent research  to get the winter camo looking perfect on his 1/48 ICM early LaGG-3.  Michal also dressed up the cockpit with Eduard photo etch and finished it all off with decals from AML Decals.

David Bey starts your week his stunning 1/48 Tamiya F-16C 'Barak' 535. David  used a broad selection of resin from DrPepperResins and Paragon Designs and finished off this gem with a subtle dose of weathering and decals from Isradecals.  There is no doubt about it.....this is one sharp looking Barak.....well done David.

Waldemar Pupar dropped by the ARC corporate offices today with his 1/48 Hasegawa SBD-4 Dauntless.  Waldemar gave his Dauntless a war weary look with weathering and paint chipping then add extra realism by dropping the dive brakes.  Beautifully work Waldemar. 

Paul Ryle joins us with not one but A Pair of Typhoons and I must say I enjoyed seeing the variety of RAF typhoons Paul has included.  Both look excellent and I would be hard pressed to pick which one I like the most. 

Francisco A. is here with a selection of photos from the SMW UK Nationals 2008.  I must confess I found these in a recent massive multi-day clean-up on my submission inbox, but the photos are late but they are still excellent to look at......enjoy and my apologies to Francisco.

Jun Gajo is here with his sharp looking 1/48 Kinetic F-5A wearing markings fromk  Haribon Decals for a Philippine Air force jet from 1985.  The F-5 does look very good in a bare metal finish with Philippine markings.

Jun Gajo is also here today with his award winning 1/48 Academy T-50B.  Jun dressed up the cockpit with ejection seats from Wolfpack and then finished is off with special markings for a "Black Eagles" jet with a Republic of Korea Air Force.

Carlos Alfonso Alvarez get things started to is fine style with his very nicely done 1/72 Hasegawa F-18C Super Hornet.  Carlos opened up the airbrake for added realism and then finished off this beauty with a full weapons load and markings for the VFA-195 Dambusters.  Excellent work Carlos.

Paolo De Sanctis did an exceptional job detailing his 1/72 Airfix Avia S. 199.  Paolo reworked a large number of critical little details on his Israeli fighter and I'm pleased to say he talks about this in his article which is a big help for everyone planning to build an Avia S. 199. 

Shmuel Boyarski has done quite a bit if conversion work to turn the 1/32 Tamiya F-4E Phantom II late version Isreali jet. Shmuel used two conversion sets as well as decals from Isradecal along with plenty of work to complete this gem.  But the real show stopper is the cockpit interior lights to light up the jet engines, which gives the engine an afterburner look as it would appear just after taking off.

  Happy Valentines Day 


Artur Oslizlo/Arkady72 is here with another of his scale modelling gems.  This is his 1/48 Tamiya De Havilland Mosquito FB.Mk.VI with an Aires cockpit and engines as well as a front open gun bay.  This Mossie is loaded with detail and finished off with a stunning weathering job.

Rusty Bero joins us today with his very attractive 1/72 Modelmaster / KP Su-22.  Rusty is rejoining the hobby after a 10 year break and I must say I'm quite impressed how well his Su-22 looks.  I look forward to seeing more of his models on ARC in the future.  Well done Rusty.

Carlos Ramirez has dropped by today with photos of his Mi-17.  This chopper is given an attractive tan camo and finished in the marking of the De La Fuerza Aérea del Perú (The Peruvian Air Force).  I love the look  of it.

  Tibet Independence Day

Gavin Parnaby has spent extensive effort detailing and improving his 1/72 Airfix BAC/Aerospatiále Concorde.  Gavin tells the whole story of building his large Concorde and explains in wonderful detail what is involved to bring this kit up to a truly high standard.  I thoroughly enjoyed reading his article about the whole build process as well as seeing all his photos.  If you're planning to build the 1/72 Airfix Concorde, then this article is a valuable resource.  Amazing work Gavin.

Shawn "phantom" Weiler is here today with his sharp looking 1/48 Monogram F-4Cs, Phantoms 155 and 156.  Both of these wear quite different camo schemes and I must admit I am quite partial to the striped jet, but they both look excellent. 

Polly Singh is here with a special treat today.  This is his 1/48 ICM LaGG-3 in the markings of the famous Russian pilot Major Leonid Galchenko during WW2.  Polly tells the history of this pilot as well as what was required to builkd his very attractive looking  LaGG-3 fighter.  Very well done Polly.

Gianni Cassi has done a massive amount of super detailing on his 1/48 Italeri HC.1 "WOKKA WOKKA".  I think every area of this Chinook from the engines to the interior and so much more have been heavily detailed.  I know I certainly enjoyed seeing each photo of this amazing RAF Chinook. 

Gerd Wilcken has done a wonderful job on his tiny 1/144 Revell F-15E Strike Eagle.  This is a Tiger Meet jet complete with a full weapons load and drop tanks and a wonderful shaded paint job showing just the slightest amount of weathering.  I have a love of Tiger Meet jets and I love the Tiger artwork on Gerd's Strike Eagle.

Tolga Ulgur is a highly skilled modeller and it is a treat to see his 1/48 Tamiya P-47D30 Thunderbolt on ARC.  Tolga dressed up the cockpit with Eduard seat belts and instrument panel and wheels from Ultracast P-47 diamond tread.  Tolga went with Turkish mrkings that were hand painted and also done with Turquoise decals.  I love the multi-shaded bare metal finish on Tolga's P-47.

Iran - Anniversary Revolution

Carmel J Attard is here with a model of an aircraft you won't see very often.  This is his 1/72 Airmodel Northrop X-4 Bantam made from a vac-u-formed kit and then modified and improved as only a skilled modeller such as Carmel can do.  Carmel chose a great looking paint scheme to adorn this rare and quite attractive little experimental aircraft.

Ramon R. Lomeli has taken the 1/48 Revell-Monogram A-1H Skyraider and dressed it up with aftermarket items and custom made decals to make the aircraft frown by his friend's uncle.  Ramon got his Skyraider looking very realistic thanks to a  full weapons load and very well done exhaust stains on the side of the fuselage.  It's great to see these older kits being built to such a high standard.

Alysson Cesar is here with a very big and quite impressive 1/144 Revell C-17 Globemaster.  Alysson gave each panel a gentle shading to give this massive cargo plane a weathered and realistic look.  One of the photos include a jet fighter near this big cargo jet.

Waldemar Pupar has done an very complicated camo scheme on his 1/18 Ultimate Soldier / 21st Century Toys Fw-190D.  The paint work look fantastic on his Dora and the pilot figure and Kubelwagen.

Francone Diego is here with a very rare model of an equally rare plane.  This is his 1/72 Anigrand MiG-31 Firefox which is a resin model kit that builds up into the plane in the 1982 movie Firefox.  This great looking model brings back fond memories of that movie. 

Pieter Stam is here with a very unique 1/144 Minicraft B-17G wearing Bolivian markings.  Pieter added detail items from other sources and finished his civilian B-17 with custom made decals to give himself a truly unique B-17.

Grenada Independence Day

Kees Kuyper is here with his 1/72 Ex-USAF Reaper NESA drone that is used by the NEtherlands Space Agency as part of their Space program.  His article has more details about this drone aircraft. 

Oliver Peissl has done a first class job on his 1/48 Eduard Mikoyan Gurewitsch MiG-21M.  Oliver added a highly detailed resin cockpit which he finished exceptionally well and then completed his model with a beautifully weathered Bulgarian camo scheme.

Paul Coppin has done a marvelous job building and finishing his 1/48 Hasegawa P-47D-30.  Paul dressed up the cockpit with some seatbelts and then gave his P-47 a flawless bare metal finish with some panels in different shades for added realism.  Paul's P-47 captures the look of this classic fighter very well.

San Marino - Santa Agata Day 

Artur Oslizlo/Arkady72 has done a stunning 1/48 Trumpeter Seahawk Mk.100/101on his West German Seahawk.  Artur added an Aires resin cockpit and main wheel bays and then finished it all off with a most amazing weathering job.  Check out the photos...this one is a beauty.

Waldemar Pupar is here with something very special today.  This is his big 1/18 Ultimate Soldier / 21st Century Toys P-38 Lightning redone to his high standards.  Waldemar also included hid 1/18 Jeep in his photos which is very cool to see next to his P-38. 

Rod Bettencourt has gone to town and a little bit further detailing his 1/48 Hobby Boss FB-111.  Rod exposed the engine to show off some wonderful detail and posed the bomb bay open in all it's glory.  He used a variety of detail goodies from various manufacturers with great results.  And the weathering and markings is bang on perfect. I love this F-111.

Sri Lanka Independence Day

Bill Michaels is here with one of the most amusing looking models I've ever seen.  This is his Monthy Python Trojan Rabbit and yes it is scratchbuilt.  Bill was quite creative in the materials he used to create this Trojan Rabbit and I do admit it made me chuckle when I saw it. 

Carmel J Attard is here with his very colourful 1/72 Airfix F-5 Freedom Fighter.  Carmel chose to built the older Airfix kit as the prototype version of the F-5 and this required reworking the kit and to further enhance the detail on his F-5 he added parts from newer kits.  I love the sleek clean lines of this prototype.

Lorenzo Cassinadri has been busy getting everything looking quite nice on his 1/48 Tamiya Fw-190D-9.  Lorenzo had some challenges during this build, as most of us do.....but the finished Dora does look first class in all it's splendor.  This Dora is a treat to see.

  Space Shuttle Columbia Accident 2003

Dragan Cvetic has done a wonderful job on the classic 1/72 Heller IaI Dagger.  Dragan used a combination of after market resin parts, scratchbuilding and even custom made decals to build his Argentine jet.  I love the look of the finished model.

Frank Dargies has taken the 1/32 Wingnut Wings Albatros D.V to a whole new level.  Franks is famous for his modelling skills and this Albatros D.V is loaded with a massive amount of scratchbuilt detail that really shows off well in 1/32 scale.  Each of Franks photos is a treat to see.  I love to see his latest model on ARC.

Burt Gustafson is here with his very attractive 1/48 Kinetic F-16A NSAWC Adversary.  This is one of the famous Top Gun Aggressor aircraft and I have to admit the blue camo is one of my favorites.  Burt tells about his experience building the Kinetic kit.
