Jens Gerber is here with another of his wonderful models.  This his 1/48 Revell Me 410 built out of the box with a camo paint job that is very well done.  Jens is very skilled with his airbrush and you will see this when you view his photos of his Me 410.  Excellent job Jens.

Francone Diego has added extra details to his rare 1/72 Italeri EB-66 E-DL Destroyer.  Francone chose to finish his Destroyer in Vietnam War era sharkmouth markings.  Gotta' love those SEA camo schemes.

Gabriele Pugnaghi has done a stunning job on this fine looking 1/12 Tamiya Ducati 900 Mike Hailwood replica.  Gabriele chose an excellent paint scheme and this Ducati is one of my favourites.  Beautiful job Gabriele.

Manuel Negri gets things started today with his stunning 1/32 Tamiya F-15 E.  Manuel added a full weapons load and expertly done weathering to his USAF F-15.  Wow....it looks perfect.

Soren Wolff is here with a very special treat for you all today.  This is his big 1/32 Revell Arado 196 built OOTB complete with a wonderfully shaded paint job.  The weathering effect gives his model just the right amount of shading to give it a realistic look. 

PS spent 2 years adding a massive amount of scratchbuilt detail to his 1/72 Hasegawa/RVHP TF-102A Delta Dagger.   Markings were from a combination of 2 decal sheets and some home made decals.  PS  has included 38 photos to help show you some of the amazing detail he added to his jet.

I have a product article for the 1/72 & 1/32 F-16C 79th FS 2005 TMOTA decal sheet from Two Bobs Aviation Graphics.  This sheet features markings for the 2005 Tiger Meet of the Americas jet from the 79th FS of Shaw AFB.  One full set of 72nd scale and 32nd scale markings are included.  All the little details are in here to include ladder markings, external tank and baggage pod markings and gun muzzle markings.  A very complete set.

Lee Burns is here with his attractive 1/48 ESCI Henschel Hs129 B-3 wearing a camo scheme that has really caught my eye.  Lee explains how he did this eye popping camo scheme.  Well done Lee.

Burcin Emren joins us from Izmir, Turkey with his exceptionally well done 1/48 Kinetic F-16 D.  Burcin added a full weapons load, an Aires cockpit set and then finished it off in US markings.  An excellent looking F-16 Burcin.

Mark J Davies has done an exceptionally fine job building and detailing his 1/72 Czech Master Resin (CMK) Pratt-Read LNE-1.  This is a great little glider kit and Mark did it justice......I love the way it looks. 

Paolo Yuen joins us with his outstanding 1/700 Trumpeter USS Nimitz 2005.  Paolo used aftermarket PE to improve the detail on his carrier and then loaded the deck with planes and used support vehicles from another carrier kit to complete this eye popping USS Nimtz carrier model.  Hard to believe this is 1/700.......it looks like 1/350.

Luxembourg - National Day and
 Official Birthday of H.R.H. the Grand Duke Jean

Burt Gustafson had a grand time building his sharp looking 1/72 Academy F-22A Raptor. Burt has high regard for the wonderful fit on this kit, so the build process was uneventful and enjoyable.  Burt finished his Raptor in Hawaii Air National Guard markings.  Excellent job Burt!!!


Miquel Silvestre is here with his first 1/48 model  This wonderful looking 1/48 Hasegawa Focke Wulf FW-190A-4 is built mostly out of the box with some scratchbuilt details.  Miquel chose one of my favourite paint schemes......winter camo and it looks perfect.  You'll enjoy seeing the photos of this one.

Istvan Havril is here with proof that 1/144 scale is the scale is the most fun to build.  Istvan built this tiny 1/144 Revell AV-8B Harrier II plus USMC and gave it a paint job that makes it look like a 1/48 model.  It is a special treat to see this tiny Harrier and I know when you see the photos, you will be blown away.  Bravo Istvan.

 Russia - The Invasion of Russia 

Christopher Yee gets things fired up today with his very attractive 1/48 Monogram Mil Mi-24 Hind D.  Christopher added scratchbuilt detailing to critical areas and then finished off his Hind in a very attractive camo scheme.

Thanos Mentzelopoulos has been very busy detailing his 1/48 Eduard BAC Lightning Mk.2A.  Thanos  opened up panel and packed his Lightning full of detail and then gave it  a beautifully done paint job.  Look at all his photos....they are loaded with details and a joy to see.

Jorge Oppenheimer has done a marvelous job building and finishing his 1/48 Tamiya F4U-1D Corsair.  Jorge built his Corsair mostly out of the box, but it is the lightly weathered paint job that you will really appreciate.....I love the look of this Corsair. 

Here's a product article for the 1/48 AV-8B Super Harrier II Jammin' Jump Jets decal sheet from Two Bobs Aviation Graphics.  This sheet features markings for three complete jets from VMA-311, VMA-513 and VMA-211.  You get very colorful markings for a Harrier and the VMA-211 jet represents the very first Harrier to drop a JDAM in combat.

Dragan Cvetic starts your Tuesday update with his 1/72 Innex MiG-21 PF.  Dragan added a resin ejection seats along with cockpit parts and a resin nose and nose cone to improve the accuracy and detail of his MiG-21 before giving it a flawless paint job.  Beautifully done Dragan.

Harv has been busy getting every looking perfect on his 1/72 Liberty Models CC-115 Buffalos.  This is a resin kit and it required some TLC, but Harv was more than up to the task and along with an IPMS Canada decal sheet, he turned out a very sharp looking Buffalo.  I love the look of it Harv.

Osni Vieira Junior has done an exceptionally fine job on his 1/144 Revell A-319.  Osni is an ARC regular and this latest airliner wears Brazilian livery and it look perfect from any angle.  Painting was done with automotive paints.

Lucio P. joins us today with his first article on ARC.  This is his beautifully done 1/48 ICM P-51D Mustang .  Lucio  used True Details cockpit and wheels, Ultracast exhausts, Squadron canopy and Cutting Edge decals for an 8th Air Force Mustang.  Lucio also did some scratchbuilding and built a fantastic diorama base to display this well weathered Mustang.  Welcome to ARC Lucio.  I look forward to seeing more of your models on ARC.  Your P-51 is a beauty.

Rod Bettencourt 1/48 Hasegawa F-16C Block 25.  Rod was the Dedicated Crew Chief on this F-16 and decided to build a model of his jet.  He dressed up his model with a Blackbox cockpit and Aires wheel well set and then finished it off with a combination of Twobobs decals and custom made decals.  The model and his photos are exceptional. 

Warren Osborne has been busy adding plenty of scratchbuilt detailing to the interior of his 1/72 Italeri H21 (Flying Banana).  Warren finished his H21 in French markings and then a final coat of weathering.  I really enjoyed seeing the finished model.

Edwin M. starts your Friday update with his eye catching 1/48 Hasegawa F-14B Tomcat.  Edwin added some scratchbuilt details and then finished his Tomcat in Jolly Rogers Last Flight, but it is the delicately weathered paint job on this F-14 that I really love.......very subtle, but also very noticeable.  F-14 weathering is tricky, but Edwin got his looking perfect.

David Walker did an outstanding job detailing and finishing his 1/48 Hasegawa Ki.84 Frank.  David added scratchbuilt and aftermarket detail items and then finished off his Ki.84 in the camo and markings for a fighter defending Toyko during WW2.  Thankfully David explains his build in great detail which will be a massive help to anyone building the Hasegawa Ki.84.

Francone Diego joins us with a very special aircraft.  This is his 1/72 Revell X-15A that he built for a very lucky friend......the finished model looks excellent.....nicely done Francone.

Hot Babe of the Week!  this week  from Twobobs is courtesy of us over here at Twobobs. Some great T-6 Texan walkarounds for you. Hopefully someone comes out with a kit of this guy in 1/48th scale. Both the USAF and USN use it as their initial pilot training aircraft and it won't be much longer before the new USAF COIN aircraft requirement gets filled with either the Texan, PC-9 or Super Tucano. Carmel J Attard did quite a bit of work on the conversion of his 1/72 Airmodel Douglas Skyraider AD-4W.  Carmel scratchbuilt vac-u-formed [arts to complete his conversion and I must say the finished model came out looking excellent.  Carmel tells the whole story in his article.

Ed Kinney has done an exceptionally nice job on his 1/48 Kinetics EA-6B Prowler.  Ed dressed up his Prowler with Black Box seats and Steel Beach intake covers.  Ed also used the pre- tinted canopies from the Revell kit and then finished it all off with the “Prowler Pootenanny” decal sheet from Fightertown Decals.  I love the job Ed did on his Prowler and it looks great in the diorama.

Borislav Delov did an amazing amount of work on his 1/72 DML Mi-28 Havoc A.  Borislav added scratchbuilt details as well as aftermarket items and then pulled it all together with his skillful hands to create this beautiful Mi-28.

Shawn "phantom" Weiler has done a great looking job on his 1/48 Hasegawa F-14D.  Shawn added Dr Pepper resin exhausts and then gave his Tomcat a weathered paint job and finished it off with special ceremonial markings from Fightertown decals.  Shawn really pulled off a great looking F-14D.  I loved seeing the photo of Shawn's display case in his article.

Phil Mead joins us today with a very attractive Aussie 1/48 Trumpeter P-40C Tomahawk.  Phil gives very insight into building the trumpeter P-40 kit that will be a big help to anyone that is building this model kit.  Phil used aftermarket decals for an Aussie. 

Jessica Cooper is here today with a very sharp looking 1/144 Revell DC 8-61.  Jessica details the whole build which is a big help if you're new to building airliners or if you're building this kit for the first time.  Her article is very informative and the finished model looks first class.....stunning job Jessica.

There will be no update on Tuesday.  I will be a parent volunteer for the year end overnight school camping trip.

Ian T.M. Holahan has done a truly impressive job weathering his 1/48 Monogram P-61 Black Widow.  Ian added extra details and then finished his P-61 with sexy noseart from Kits-World decals and a dynamite weathering job.  I love the look of it Ian.

Dragan Cvetic has done a wonderful job building and finishing his 1/72 Italeri Kfir C-2.  Dragan added a resin seat and some scratchbuilt details to his very sharp looking Kfir.  An excellent looking Israeli Kfir.

Jens Gerber has put plenty of effort into his 1/48 Eduard Fw-190 D9 diorama.  Jens combined parts from a few different kit as well as aftermarket resin and photo etch parts, plus plenty of scratchbuilding and effort.  The finished model looks fantastic as does the diorama.  Excellent work Jens.

  Portugal National Day

Mark Davies starts today with his 1/72 Czech Master Resin (CMR) Bristol M.1C.  Mark found this CMR kit to be a pleasure to build and he chose to finish it in the colours and markings for a trainer aircraft.  Mark explains the whole build process in a very helpful way.  This is one sharp looking little model.

Ed Kinney is here with a gleaming baremetal PAIR OF “HUNS”.  Ed dressed up both of his F-100s with Eduard “Zoom” cockpit and AMS intake cover and seat and then finished it off with a gleaming baremetal finish using Alclad II and aftermarket decals.  Read his article for some very helpful tips of baremetal finishes and then sit back and enjoy all the lovely photos.

Zafer Yilmaz has been busy creating a P-63A from the 1/48 Eduard P-39.  Zafer chose a P-63A with the word 'KISMET' on her nose which in  Turkish means 'destiny'.  This conversion took quite a bit of work, but Zafer did an excellent job on all the details for the whole modification.

Paolo Re joins us from Italy with his 1/72 Cunarmodel SIAI Marchetti S. 211- prototype.  Paolo added extra details to accurately represent the 3rd prototype and then finished it off with custom decals and a very nice diorama.  

Tolga ULGUR has done an exceptional job creating his 1/48 Tamiya + Fusion Models - Messerspit.  Tolga used the “Captured Spitfire Mk.Vb with DB605 Engine set” from “Fusion Models” for the conversion and then dressed up the model with Eduard PE instrument panel, Ultracast resin seat and Quickboost gunsight added in the cockpit.  I really like the odd of this Spitfire with the 109 nose.  Tolga tells the whole history in his article.

James J. Olschlager Jr. has been busy building his good looking 1/72 Hasegawa F/A-18D.  I love seeing models of the Blue Angle jets.  Nicely done James....she's a beauty.

Carmel J Attard is here with his amazing model of the 1/72 Airmodel Douglas C-117D.  This is a vacuformed kit that Carmel built using parts from a DC-3 kit to created his eye catching USN C-119D.  Wow....I love the look of this one and the article is VERY interesting to read.  This sounds like it was quite the project.

Jeong Cheol, Kim is here with one of the most attractive Su-27's I've seen in a long time.  This is his 1/48 Academy SU-27UB.  Jeong Cheol chose the very attractive Ukrainian Air Force camo scheme...wow.....it looks GREAT!!

Kees Kuyper joins us today with another of his colourful 1/72 Revell Bearcat Reno Racers.   Kees is having fun deciding on which sponsors to use on his Reno Racers and I must say I sure do enjoy seeing the finished models.

  Yorktown sunk  - US Carrier Yorktown sunk (1942) 

Bruce Grayson has done a marvelous job building and finishing his 1/72 Revell (ex-Dragon) Messerschmitt P.1101 Nachtjaeger.  Bruce gave his Nachtjaeger a missile load and drop tanks before finishing it off with a beautifully done mottled paint job.

Jim Knight has been busy getting things looking perfect on his 1/48 Koster Mitsubishi Type 96 G3M2 Nell.  This was a vacuformed, but that didn't slow down Jim and he turned out a stunning and beautifully finished Nell complete with panel line shading and peeling paint.  I love the way it looks.

Mohammed Aly has done an exceptional job on his 1/48 Kinetic F-16E.  Added a full weapons load and CFT's and then gave it a full weathering job and the markings for an United Arab Emirates F-16.  This is an amazingly well done model of the F-16.

This sheet includes the markings for on AIM-9B/D/G/J/L/M and AIM-7E-2/M.  Bob Sanchez has a good understanding of missiles and bombs and the markings and paint colors, so you are going to love these.

  Sweden National Day 

   D-Day - Allied Landings in France in 1944   

I have a selection of images for the 1/72 -1/48 Yankee Station MiG Killers decal sheet for the IPMS / USA Nationals 2011This decal sheet was sponsored by Sprue Bros....way to go Sprue Bros.   This decal sheet is Free when you attend the IPMS / USA Nationals 2011 in Omaha, Nebraska.  This is quite the sheet and includes 1/48 scale as well as 1/72 scale and includes 6 different USN aircraft.


Jia Wei Lim is here to mark the anniversary of the D-day landings with his 1/72 Italeri C-47A Skytrain.  Jia Wei Lim did some peeling paint on his C-47 and then finished it off with D-Day stripes.  Very nicely done.

Francone Diego has done a gorgeous job detailing and finishing his 1/48 Hasegawa AH-1 Skyraider.  Francone  added the Aires resin wheel bay set and then upgraded other areas with scratchbuilt details before weathering his Skyraider and finishing it in the markings of VA-145.  Beautiful job Francone.

David Rapasi is here with a Tools n' Tips Article about F4U-1 Corsair Primer and Interior Colors.  This is another in David's very helpful series about Corsair colors.

Lee, Seok Joo gets today's update started fine fine style with his very detailed 1/32 Revell Tornado GR Mk.I RAF.  Seok Joo  used the cockpit and engine detail sets from Aires and the dropped flap/slat set from Paragon Designs to add plenty of detail and then finished his Tornado as a Gulf War jet complete with sexy nose art.  This is a very impressive Tornado.

Bruce Grayson has done a gorgeous job detailing and finishing his 1/72 Hobbyboss Morane-Saulnier MS 406.  Bruce added plenty of extra details and then finished it off in the markings for the Free French, which is a pretty cool choice of markings.  I really like the look of this  Morane-Saulnier MS 406.

PS did an exceptional job on his 1/72 Academy F-8P Crusader.  PS added an Aires Martin Baker Mk F7 ejection seat, CMK cockpit and wheel wells plus added scratchbuilt details and then gave it special markings and a flawless lightly weathered paint job.  Stunning work PS.

I have a product article for the 1/72 & 1/32 F-16C/D Block 50 Peace Puma Vipers decal sheet from Two Bobs Aviation Graphics.  This is a combo sheet that has markings for both 72nd and 32nd scale of these wicked Block 52 jets from the Chilean Air Force.  Italy National Day

Kit is here with a wonderfully detailed and perfectly weathered 1/48 Hasegawa AH-64A Apache.  This great looking Ah-64 has an Aires cockpit set and a weathering job that has to be seen to be appreciated.  I really enjoyed seeing the photos of Kit's Apache...this is impressive work.  Bello!!! (Beautiful!!!)  This article is in English and Italian.

Benner joins us with his flawlessly finished 1/48 Italeri Mirage F1CR.  Benner added a Neomega cockpit set and used aftermarket decals for an aircraft that operated from Saudi Arabia in Jan 1991 in Operation Daguet in the gulf War.  I love the job Benner did on his Mirage F1CR.

Jorge Oppenheimer has done an exceptional job on his 1/48 Tamiya P-51D LOU IV.  Jorge dressed up the cockpit with some Eduard photo etch and then finished his Mustang with highly polished bare metal finish.  Beautiful work Jorge.

  Mexico Navy Day

 100th Anniversary of Turkish Air Force 

Gokhan PALABIYIK is here with his first article on ARC to mark the 100th Anniversary of Turkish Air Force with his beautifully finished 1/72 Academy F-16C.  Gokhan gave his F-16 a full weapons load and a very realistic weathering job.  This is an excellent looking F-16 Gokhan....welcome to ARC!!!

Emrah BARUTCU  is also here with his first article on ARC to mark the 100th Anniversary of Turkish Air Force with his flawless 1/48 Monogram B-24D LiberatorThis is an older kit and the fit was less than perfect, but Emrah did turn it into a wonderful example of the B-24 complete with weathering and paint chipping.  Very nicely done Emrah....welcome to ARC!!!

Ian Macdonald is also here with his first article on ARC.  Ian used a resin conversion set for his 1/48 Hasegawa EA-18G Growler and finished off this sharp looking Growler with decals from Twobobs with excellent results.  Welcome to ARC Ian!!! 

Here's a product article for the 1/48 F-105D Wrap Around Thuds decal sheet from Two Bobs Aviation Graphics.  In the early 80's the 466th FS at Hill AFB had some of the slickest camo scheme Thuds that ever existed.  This sheet captures 3 of these camo schemes.
