Dominican Republic Independence Day

Sertac Bayar is here with his 1/72 Meng F-102 in all it's glory from 1952.  Sertac used the kit decals and added missiles to complete the look of this sharp looking USAF jet.  Beautiful work Sertac.

Tolga ULGUR has done a fantastic job creating his 1/32 Hasegawa Messerschmitt Bf 109G6- AS.  Tolga started with the Bf-109 G10 and did the necessary mods to build his Bf 109G6- AS.  He also added aftermarket items and finished off his 109 with a most amazing paint job.  It is always a special treat to see Tolga's latest model on ARC.

Nat Krairojananan has added quite a few aftermarket detail items to his 1/72 Academy F-16CM and then finished his F-16 in the Have Glass paint scheme.  Nat custom mixed the radar absorbing paint scheme for this F-16 with great success.  Beautiful work Nat.

Kuwait National Day

Alacran gets things started with his Peruvian Air Force 1/72 Mastercraft Su-22M2 Fitter A.   Alacran added extra detail including Pavla SK-2/3 ejection seat, Neomega wheels and finished it off in style with a great looking camo and Aztec decals.

Phillip Steele did a top notch job adding scratch built details to his 1/72 Hobby Boss Mi-2URP Hoplite anti tank.  His chopper is fully armed and given full weathering and markings for a Polish bird.  It's very cool to see one of these with door guns.

Kevin Payne went all out building and detailing his 1/72 Gene Hooker vac-form Vickers Vanguard.  Kevin basically scratchbuilt or redid every area of the kit including casting resin parts.....the boarding ladder is also from scratch including the markings.  I recall seeing this aircraft at Brooklands during a visit to the UK and Kevin's model goes above and beyond what most people would be able to do with this vac-u-formed kit.

Estonia National Day

Orlando Sucre Rosales  joins us from sunny Caracas, Venezuela with his 1/72 Airfix Hawker Siddeley Dominie T.1.  Orlando chose one of the best looking liveries for his jet and finished this classic model to a very high standard, which takes skill and patience...Orlando has plenty of skill and patience as you will see in his photos.  It's good to see this old kit looking so good. 

Mike Pattison has done a gorgeous job detailing his big 1/32 Eduard Bf 109E-4.  This particular Emil is wearing the markings for Luftwaffe Ace Adolf Galland complete with the Mickey Mouse artwork.  Mike's 109 also has full engine detailing with the engine cowling removed to show off all his wonderful detailing.  Mike is a talented modeler and airbrusher as you will seet in his photos.  It's a treat to see his 109 on ARC.

Gene A. "Gene-o" DiGennaro Jr. is here with a very rare Crusader.  This is his 1/48 Monogram Chance Vought XF8U-1 Crusader modified and painted to represent the F-8 prototype.  Gene details the work involved on his award winning model and he has detailed all the mods in his article.  It's amazing how different this prototype looks from the later production Crusaders when you look carefully at all the tiny details.  Excellent work Gene.

Shawn phantom Weiler gets things start with his bright yellow Canadian SAR 1/48 Airfix/Belcher Bits CH-149 Cormorant.  Shawn used the Airfix kit with the Belcher Bit conversion set to make himself an accurate Canadian Cormorant.  I love the yellow and red paint schemes on these Canadian SAR choppers.

Vladimír Žucha has done a stunning job finishing his 1/144 Minicraft Boeing 777-200.  This particular triple seven is wearing the livery for Vietnam Airlines which is good to see on ARC.  I always enjoying seeing Vladimír's models on ARC .

Carmel J. Attard is here with a very colourful 1/72 William Brothers Curtiss Wright CW20 (C-46 Commando).   Carmel added scratchbuilt detail to a variety of critical areas on his Commando along with metal landing gear.  He then  did custom markings for a brightly coloured Japanese Air Force Commando.  This one is quite the beauty.......Carmel's display cases must be a sight to behold.

Dragan Cvetic is here with another gem of a resin kit that he has high praise for.  This is his 1/72 Aircast resin Soko J-21 Jastreb built to a very high standard with added detailing and finished in the attractive camo on the Republika Srpska Air force.  Balkan Models offers a variety of decals from this area of the world.  Dragan did an outstanding job on his Soko J-21 Jastreb.

Baran Çakmak has done a stunning job on his 1/32 Revell Tornado ECR Tigermeet.  This is a Luftwaffe Tigermeet jet with Aires resin detail parts in the cockpit and exhaust area.  Baran chose an amazing set of decals that gave him one of the very best looking Tigermeet jet of all time.  What a beautiful sight this Tornado is.....enjoy the photos.

Larry Trout joins us with his first article on ARC today.  Larry has been busy adding extra detail from Verlinden to his 1/48 Revell/Monogram Messerschmitt Bf-110 G-2.  Larry improved other areas on his 110 and then gave it a flawless paint job with weathering for an aircraft on the Russian Front .  I'm pleased to see Larry's model on ARC and I hope to see more of his work on ARC in the future.  Enjoy the Mosquito Larry....I've heard it is a very enjoyable build.  Welcome to ARC Larry.

WW1 Events - this date in  1915

Shawn "phantom" Weiler gets things started in a  big way with his 1/32 Tamiya Tomcat.  Shawn built this Tomcat long ago and decided recently to redo it in Jolly Rogers markings.  His work is impeccable and the finished hi-viz VF-84 Tomcat looks exceptionally nice.  I love the darkened panel lines and weathering he did.

Stanislav Lelko has done a stellar job weathering his 1/48 Academy TBM-3 Avenger "USS Bunker Hill".  Many of the markings were painted and the weathering is very skillfully applied.  This Avenger looks perfect from every angle......I really enjoyed seeing it.

Dragan Cvetic has a very busy time building his 1/72 Airfix Vampire T.11 due to fit issues.  Dragan added some scratchbuilt detailing to the cockpit and finish his Vampire as a jet that flew with Rhodesia long ago.  I like his choice of markings....very unique and Dragan's Vampire turned out looking very good....thanks to his skillful hands.

Eric Hargett is here to WOW you with his stunning 1/48 Accurate Miniatures Douglas SBD-3 Dauntless.  This Dauntless was on the Yorktown 3 days before she sunk due to action in the battle of Midway.  Eric has added plenty of detail to his Dauntless and the cockpit detailing looks fantastic.  Eric is a very skilled modeler and I always enjoy seeing his latest work on the ARC homepage and in the ARC gallery section.

Busolini Massimo has done a perfect job on his 1/48 Airfix RB-57E Camberra.  Busolini added a CMK resin cockpit and then gave his RB-57E a flawless bare metal finish with weathering and USAF markings.  I loved to see this jet model on ARC.....excellent work Busolini.

Lucio P. has been very careful to get the finish on his 1/48 Monogram Tomcat looking very realistic.  This is a classic Monogram kit from long ago that builds into a great looking model in the skilled hands of Lucio.  Lucio chose the markings for a crew that was lost during operations in 1980.....a fitting tribute to it's noble crew.

Vladimír Žucha is here with his 1/72 Revell Airbus A400M as it appeared in the Paris airshow.  Vladimír made custom decals and then finished his Airbus A400M to a very high standard.  This one looks perfect in every photo.

Harv is here with his $40 Airbrush Booth Build. Harv used a rangehood to make his spray booth and as you will see and read in his article.....this is an excellent option.

Mike Pattison starts today with his beautifully detailed 1/32 Tamiya Spitfire Mk IX.  The big Spitfire kit comes loaded with detail and Mike took full advantage of this by keep the engine cowling off to show off his Spits V-12 in all it's glory.  For markings he chose one of the most famous Spitfire pilots from the UK and a very popular pilots among Canadians.  Mike's Spitfire is a treat to see....enjoy the photos

Carmel J.Attard is here with a little known commuter airliner from the 1950's.  This is his 1/72 Airfix De Havilland DH 114 Heron wearing the markings for Jersey Airlines out of the UK.  Carmel has an eye for getting the important details looking perfect and you'll notice this in his photos.....his Heron is a treat to see.

Iran - Anniversary Revolution

Paul Fernandez gets things started today with the latest chopper in the Philippines Navy.  This is his 1/72 Revell Agusta Westland AW109E.  Paul modified the nose, engine cowling and the tail skid and then added a other few details such as the antennae, floats and winch.  Paul then finished off his chopper with custom markings and a stunning weathering job.  It's good to see a Philippine Navy chopper on ARC.

Rodrigo Rendon has done a first class job on his tiny 1/144 Revell F-14D.  Rodrigo used Jolly Rogers markings from Fightertown decals and then gave his USN Tomcat that weathered look so unique to USN jets.  Rodrigo then got very busy creating a display base to properly display his tiny gem.  He explains how he built his base and I must say I am quite impressed by the finished base and model.

Mike Muth is here with a very special 1/48 Revell Stearman PT-17.  Mike built a Stearman model of the exact plane he flew and I'm pleased to say he added a photo of himself in the full sized aircraft.  Mike got everything looking perfect on his biplane including the rigging and then gave it a beautiful finish to complete this great looking trainer.

Mark L. Rossmann always does a very special job bringing to light the exploits of the Mustangs that fought in the PTO.  Today he is here with his 15th FG / 45th FS Colors article which contains vintage war time photos and stories about these Mustangs as well as two of his flawless models of Mustangs that are featured in his historical article.  If you love aviation history...then Mark's articles are a must read. 

Jaime Vinha is here with a jewel today.  This is his 1/72 Northrop F-20 Tigershark in "what-if" markings for a Portuguese F-20 in full operational colours.  Jaime has a skilled eye for what looks correct and his F-20 looks correct in every way.  Seeing this F-20 is a special treat to be sure.

Kees Kuyper is here to get the creative juices flowing today with his  Focke Wulf 190 Z (Zwilling) nightfighter.  Kees has chosen a very eye catching camo scheme to finish his twin Fw-190.  Very cool indeed.

WW1 Events - this date in  1915

Lucio P. starts today with his stunning 1/72 Airfix Spitfire Mk 22.  Lucio scratchbuilt the exhaust, cockpit and cannons and then built the rest of his Spit out of the box.  His attention to detail is first rate and his painting and weathering is fantastic.  This is amazingly well done...I love it.

Sertac Bayar joins us from Turkey with his very big and extremely impressive 1/32 Revell F-4E.  Sertac built this kit long ago and recently rebuilt it in the  111.Sq Panterler, 50,000 Hours Scheme complete with plenty of mods and detailing.  His finished Phantom features a sharks mouth and weapons load and special tail art and so much more.  Sertac is a regular on the ARC homepage and each of his models is a treat to see.

Ronald Beelen got everything looking perfect on his 1/48 Eduard Yak-3.  Ronald's models are always finished to a very high standard and this WW2 Soviet fighter is no exception.  The cockpit is loaded with detail and there is even exhaust stains on the fuselage to complete things.  I know you will enjoy seeing each photo of his beautiful Yak-3....I know I sure did.

New Zealand Waitangi Day

Busolini Massimo starts today in style with his beautifully weathered 1/48 AZ Models Saab J-29E/F Tunnan.   Busolini found this kit to be a bit on the challenging side due to fit issues, but he persisted to end up with a beautiful model of this Swedish jet.  I love the painting and weathering he did on this model.

Peter Doll is a master of bare metal foil finishes and today he is here with his eye popping 1/72 Academy Boeing KC-97L Jet Boosted Tanker.  Peter used simple kitchen foil to get his outstanding results.  It is quite the pleasure to see every photo of this rocket boosted tanker.  Amazing work and fantastic photos as always Peter.

Shawn "phantom" Weiler is here with his eye catching 1/48 HobbyBoss F-18B Hornet 62.  Shawn finished his Hornet on the adversary markings for VFC-12 using Twobobs decals.  This joins Shawn's other 4 Hornets that are painted up in adversary paint schemes.  I like the looks of this one very much.

San Marino - Santa Agata Day 

Dragan Cvetic is here with his very impressive 1/72 Italeri Jaguar GR.1.   Dragan added scratchbuilt details to the cockpit and then finished his RAF Jaguar in desert camo complete with noseart and a drop tank and missiles.  I love the realism of this desert Jaguar.

Vladimír Žucha has done a flawless job on his 1/48 Eduard weekend edition Yakovlev Yak-3.  Vladimír built his Russian fighter out of the box and then finished it with a beautifully done weathering job.  I know you will enjoy the photos of this one.  Vladimír is a very skilled modeller.

Harv joins us from Canada with his great looking 1/72 Hasegawa CT-133 T-Bird.  This T-Bird is wearing Canadian markings from a Leading Edge decal sheet.  Harv is a long time member here on ARC and I love seeing his latest model on the ARC homepage.

Sri Lanka Independence Day

Orlando Sucre Rosales dropped by the ARC Corporate office in Venezuela with his 1/72 Airfix CAC Boomerang.  Orlando built this Aussie fighter out of the box with beautiful results.  This is a classic Airfix kit from the '60's, but Orlando turned it into a very attractive model of this classic Aussie fighter.  I would like to wish Orlando a belated Happy Birthday!!!

Ronald Beelen is here with one of China's top jet interceptors.  This is his 1/48 Trumpeter Shenyang J-8II with a weapons load and drop tanks.  I love the work Ronald does and this Shenyang J-8II looks excellent.

Mike Pattison starts today with his big stunning bare metal 1/32 Trumpeter BAC Lightning.  Mike "went to town" doing this big beauty in bare metal foil.....endless hours of bare metal foil.....and judging by his photos of the finished model.....his "Foil Toil" was well worth the effort.....this one is STUNNING.  I love his choice of red and the bright red checkered markings.  

Mark McClellan has taken his 1/48 Revell-Monogram B-29 “Doctors' Orders" to a whole new level.  This older kit has much promise in the hands of a skilled modellers such as Mark and he proved that with his improvements.  He added plenty of exterior detail and then figured out very smart ways to show off all that interior detail.  It's good to see this classic kit being given so much love and attention. 

Serge Dompierre is here with one of his display case beauties.  This is his 1/48 Special Hobby Gloster E.28/39 which does build into a great looking model in the hands of a skilled modeller such as Serge.  This is a very cool looking British jet.
