Vanuatu Independence Day

Mark Chen joins us today from Singapore with his 1/48 Tamiya F-16C Block 30 “Arctic Bandit”.  Mark did some extra detailing and scratchbuilding and finished his Viper in the cool looking 3 colour paint scheme used in Alaska.   


Ray Hemenway has done a stellar job on his 1/28 Revell Triplane.  Ray finished his Tri-plane in the markings of the plane that Werner Voss lost his life in.   


Rafi Ben-Shahar is here with his flawless 1/48 FM Vautour IIB.  Rafi finished this classic jet in Israeli markings.  I love seeing Rafi's latest model.

WW1 Events - this date in  1915

Yvan Vansteenkiste dropped by the ARC Corporate office in Belgium today with a  very special 1/32 Tamiya Greek F16 C.  Yvan used his high skill level to turn this into a  stunning model of a Greek F-16. 


Karl W Branson has done a stellar job on his 1/48 Tamiya Gloster Meteor F.3.  Karl had a grand time building his Meteor and added some scratchbuilt details and fixed a few things before finishing his Meteor in the classic late WW2 camo colours of the RAF.  No doubt about it this is one classy looking Meteor and beautifully finished.   


Maurizio Bressan joins us with his 1/48 Italeri USCG HH-60J Jayhawk.  This Jayhawk caused quite the stir on the ARC Discussion forums and today Maurizio is here to tell you about his attractive looking USCG Jayhawk and all about some of the super detailing he did to create it.

Scott Vomacka gets things going today with his attractive 1/48 Hobby Boss F/A-18C.  Scott did quite a bit of kitbashing on his Hornet as well as adding aftermarket goodies and finishing it off with Twobobs decals for the "Golden Dragons".   


Raul Corral has been busy doing a conversion on his 1/48 Hasegawa Messerschmitt Bf-109 G6/AS.  Raul finished his model with much skill and finished it in the markings for a Luftwaffe ace. 


Steve Eggers is here with quite the in-flight diorama of the MPC Incom T-65 X-Wing Fighter.  Steve provides some very interesting history on the X-wing which I know will be an interest to all you sci-fi fans out there.  Steve also goes into very fascinating detail about building this great looking X-wing fighter and it's Death star base.

Just a small update today....I'm getting ready for my trip to the UK to meet up my daughter for 10 days of touring around England....visiting relatives and seeing the sights.  She's returning from 7 weeks of volunteer work in Rwanda tutoring local business owners.

Vince Pedulla of ModelerV Studios starts today's update with his 8th article on ARC.  Vince used the classic 1/48 AMT F7F-7N Tigercat to create his heavily weathered Korean war night fighter complete with it's weathered and worn away paint scheme.  Vince explains his very successful process to get these amazing results.....it really is quite fantastic how this weathered Tigercat looks.  I'm deeply impressed how well this Tigercat turned out.

Dragan Cvetic is here with something special today.  This is his 1/72 Mastercraft Su-20 with rescribed panel lines and added detailing in the cockpit and gear bays along with improved gun barrels.  Dragan then chose the attractive looking Egyptian camo scheme to finish his 'Fitter'.  Very nicely done indeed.

Egypt National Day

WW1 Events - this date in  1915

David Mielke starts today's update with his stunning 1/48 Hasegawa A-7E Corsair II.  David added some aftermarket decals with hi-viz markings and a sharks mouth to better show off the intake on this classic jet. David used a variety of weathering techniques to complete his USN A-7E.  I love the look of this one David and am excited to see more of your models on ARC in the future.

Mike Pattison has been very busy getting some eye popping detail added to his 1/32 Tamiya F4U-1 Corsair.  Mike opened up one of the gun bays on the wings and added full detail and left the engine cowlings off to show off all the detail his model has to offer.  He finished all this off with full weathering to show what these planes endured during flight operations in the hot Pacific.  She's a beauty Mike.

WW1 Events - this date in  1915

M.J. Gormley is back in great form with his stunning 1/48 Airfix English Electric Lightning.  Mark gave his lightning an exceptionally well done bare metal finish and then chose a beautiful set of markings to complete this gem.  Mark also used a very effective technique for darkening the panel lines and he explains the process in his article.  It is a special treat to have Mark's Lightning on ARC.

Colin Latta joins us from Canada with his extensively detailed 1/48 Classic Airframes Dornier Do17Z-2. Colin added plenty of detail to the highly visible cockpit and then turned his attention to adding scratchbuilt detail to the gear bays and engines and other areas of his bomber including new gun barrels.  The Classic Airframes kits do offer interesting subjects with plenty of resin detail parts etc if you are a patient modeller with a bit of skill to complete the project.  Colin spent 1 year off and on building this beauty and his efforts were well rewarded......this is one very sharp looking Do-17.  Excellent work Colin.

Greg Kerry is here with a special scene from the mud and destruction of the Great War.  This is Greg diorama of a gun crew racing across the wasteland past a crashed 1/72 Revell Fokker DVII in an action packed moment.  Greg explains how he achieved the excellent results in his groundwork.

Burt Gustafson has done a top notch job on his 1/48 Hasegawa EA-18G Growler.  Burt added photo etch seatbelts and finished his Growler in the markings for a CAG jet with VAQ-130 Zappers with it's excellent looking tailart.  Nicely done Burt.

George Athanasiadis is here from Greece with something very special today.  George is a painting Tech with the Greek Air Force and this 1/32 Academy F-16C is a scale model of the latest 1/1 aircraft George recently painted in a special 341 Sqn Anniversary scheme.  George has also included photos of the real jet being painted.  His model is exceptional....George is a very skilled painter in 1/32 or 1/1 scale.  Beautiful work George...it's a honour to see your 4th model on ARC.

Jens Gerber joins us from Germany with one of the more attractive camo schemes from WW2.  This is his 1/48 Eduard Bf 109 E3 / 7 in a desert camo scheme from North Africa, which was a very effective paint scheme when you compare it to the local vegetation and soil.  Jens does beautiful work and this is his 64 model article on ARC.

Iraq Republic Day

WW1 Events - this date in  1915

Nat Krairojananan starts today in style with the newest version of the F-16.  This is his 1/72 Tamiya-Hasegawa F-16E Block 60 Desert Viper made from kitbashing the Tamiya and Hasegawa kits with plenty of extra skill to pull this whole project together.  This F-16 is finished in the markings for the United Arab Emirates complete with perfect wearing and a weapons load and drop tanks.  The conformal fuel tanks certainly change the look of the F-16.  I love the look of this U.A.E. F-16. 

Jens Gerber joins us from Germany with his 63rd model on ARC.  This is his 1/48 Hobby Boss Me 262 B1a / U1 finished a a 2 seater night interceptor.  Jens did quite a bit of work on the cockpit and posed the canopy in the open position which shows off his detailing very well.  Jens did a wonderful job on the complicated camo on his 262....it look perfect.

WW1 Events - this date in  1915

Paul Bica starts today with his first article on ARC with a very interesting model of a vehicle from over 100 years ago.  This is Paul's 1/32 Eddie Models Coanda 1910 Sled.  This sled was used by Russian royalty for motor-sled races.  Paul's model captures this odd little sled beautifully and the snowy diorama base completes the look perfectly with the utmost realism.  Welcome to ARC Paul.

Eduard Boxem is here with his 6th model on ARC.  This is Eduard's 1/32 Italeri Lockheed F-104G Starfighter finished to a very high standard to represent a Royal Netherlands Air Force Starfighter that was lost in 1964.  Eduard included the history of the Dutch 104's along with the tragic story of this particular jet.  Eduard is a skilled modeller and I know you will enjoy seeing his big F-104.

WW1 Events - this date in  1915

David Mielke starts today with his 8th article on ARC,  This is his beautifully finished 1/48 Hasegawa F-4B Phantom II is wearing the markings for a MiG killer CAG jet with VF-51.  David has a  passion for the Phantom and it is a special treat to see this one on ARC.

Carmel J. Attard is here with a special post war Royal Navy trainer in it's bright paint scheme.  This is Carmel's 1/72 Pegsus Boulton Paul Sea Balliol T.21 modified into the naval version and finished with quite the eye catch hi visibility paint scheme.  Carmel's work on this Sea Balliol T.21 is flawless and a joy to see.  This was a rare plane and an even more rare model.  Thanks for sharing Carmel.

France National Day

WW1 Events - this date in  1915

Mike Pattison is here with his eye popping detail rich 1/32 Dragon P-51K.  Mike added seatbelts to the cockpit and dressed up the engine with scratchbuilt detailing.  Then to pull the whole project together, Mike gave it a foil finish and a full weapons load and colorful markings for the famous "Yoxford Boys" with the USAF during WW2.  Beautiful work Mike.

Tolga Ülgür dropped by the ARC Corporate Offices in Turkey with his sharp looking 1/48 Kinetic F-5A Freedom Fighter.  Tolga dressed up the detail in the cockpit with a new instrument panel and ejection seat and then finished it all in a great looking camo for a Turkish jet with just the perfect amount of weathering.  I love how this F-5 looks.

Mark L. Rossmann gets things started with his Phantom from the Land of the Rising Sun.  This is Mark's "Far East Phantom" 1/48 Hasegawa F-4EJ kai with special markings that include a sharks mouth and tailart.  Mark tell the history of these upgrade Phantoms with their enhanced capabilities.  Beautiful as always Mark...this is your 54th article on ARC..

Kees Kuyper is here from the Netherlands with his "what-if" 1/72 KLM Oostzee Osprey.  It's good to see the Osprey in civilian service.....I love it.  Kees tells the full story in his article.

Greg Kerry (chinagreg) starts today with his 1/144 Academy F-14 posed in a carrier deck diorama complete with tractors and crew figures.  Greg has a flare for action packed diorama scenes and this one is beautifully done and very cool to see.

Jens Gerber is here with his 1/48 Dragon Fw 190 A5 / U12 in a very eye catching paint scheme.  This 190 is from the middle of the war and Jens gave it some added details and then did an excellent job on the painting.  I love the look of this white tailed 190.

S K Loh did quite a bit of work rebuilding his 1/72 Sepecat Jaguar GR3.  The markings he chose were for an RAF bird complete with "The Saint" logo on the tail using custom made decals.  I'm quite impressed with the amount of work that was put into this model.

WW1 Events - this date in  1915

Carmel J. Attard starts today with a very interesting model.  This is his 1/72 Project X Maintrack Hangar Productions Northrop A-9A, which is the aircraft that competed with the A-10 Warthog.  The A-10 was chosen over the A-9A.  This is vac-u-formed kit and Carmel got the whole amazing project built and completed in 1 week to a very high standard.  Carmel tells the history of this little known aircraft as well as what was involved to pull this fascinating project together.  Thanks for sharing Carmel....your article was a very enjoyable read.

Ian Foulkes joins us with his 4th model on ARC.  This is his 1/48 Tamiya Spitfire Pr Mk Ia that he built with the Pavla conversion set.  Ian explains the process to create his sharp looking photos recon Spitfire with some added pointers to build your model correctly.  Ian finished off his Spitfire with weathering including exhaust stains and chipped paint to complete the look of this photo recon gem.

Thomas Brückelt is here with his second article on ARC.  This is his what-if 1/100 Plasticart Tu-95TJ "Thunderbear" modified in a variety of ways using a combination of kit bashing and scratchbuilding.  It's a  good looking Bear that is a very creative design.  Very cool project Thomas.

Frederic Cottin joins us with something to make the Tomcat fans smile.  This is his 1/48 Hasegawa F-14A Tomcat IRIAF in the last air superiority camo, which is quite the good looking scheme.  It's good to see this Tomcat on ARC.

Carmel J. Attard gets things fired up today with his 1/72 Frog M.S.406 finished in Rising Decal's Croatian markings from WW2.  Carmel tell the history of these Croatian Ms 406's in Croat AF service and Partizan AF service.  It's a fascinating history from these dark days during the second world war.  His model is built from the old Frog kit, but Carmel has the skill and passion to turn these older kits into remarkable scale models. 


Ian Buick joins us in style with his 1/72 Revell Typhoon FGR.4 in No. 3 (Fighter) Squadron, Royal Air Force markings.  Ian has a talent for building the Revell Typhoon and you will see that when you view the photos of this beauty.  Ian gave his Typhoon a full weapons load to show the ability of this amazing jet.  This is Ian's 15 article on ARC and I always enjoy seeing his latest model on ARC...he does great work.

Dragan Cvetic starts this special July 4th update with his stunning looking 1/48 Revell SB2C Helldiver.  Dragan is a master at weathering and you can see that on his beautifully weather Helldiver.  Dragan has high praise for this Revell kit.  Beautiful work Dragan.

Shawn phantom Weiler joins us on this 4th with his USMC 1/48 Hasegawa F-4S Phantom #178.  Shawn built his Phantom mostly OOB and finished it off with MAW decals for a USMC bird with VMFA-232 "Red Devils".  This is a perfect addition to this special update....well done Shawn.

Shawn phantom Weiler starts this special Canada day update with his 1/48 Hasegawa CF-18 Hornet, #63Shawn modified his Canadian Hornet to replicate an airshow CF-18 that flew with this Battle of Britain 75th anniversary scheme.  Shawn explains the mods he did to replicate this aircraft which is painted up to look like one of the few from that hot summer or 1940.  Happy Canada Day Shawn.

Harv has a sharp looking 1/72 Italeri FWSAR C-27J Spartan wearing a Canadian SAR scheme.  Harv used a combination of decals from Leading Edge and other sources to pull this attractive project together in 3 short days.  I love the look of it.   Happy Canada Day Harv.
