Things are ramping up fast as the lucky few prepare to attend the 2006 IPMS USA Nationals in Kansas City, MO.  One of the highlights for ARC'ers will be the Twobobs Hospitality Suite....party!!!  Here is the banner showing the companies (including ARC) that are paying for the free beer.

I want to alert on ARC'ers from Chile that the Museo Histórico Militar de Chile EXPO 2006 in Santiago, Chile in on from July 25 to August 31.  Click link for more information.

Giuseppe Penna has put quite a bit of effort super detailing his 1/48 Italeri S-3 Viking.  I'm deeply impressed by the added detail in this model.....it is spectacular.  

Carmel John Attard dropped by today with his 1/72 Nimrods.  These 2 models are both Nimrods.....from different time periods. 


Bartosz Piotrowski has done a fine job building his  1/72 ESCI Dassault Mirage F-1C.  Bartosz used a resin seat and aftermarket decals to detail and finish his Mirage.   


Brad Evans joins us today with his 1/72 Academy F4U-1 Corsair.  Brad built this beauty out of the box and it came out looking quite good.  


Ken Middleton is here with a review of the 1/72 F-15C/D "Aggressor Eagles" 65th Aggressor Sq. Nellis AFB decal sheet from Afterburner Decals.  This decal sheet includes 4 different aircraft.

Friday,  July 28  2006      Peru Independence Day  

Bad News At Meteor.  Meteor Productions is retiring 275 resin sets to make room for their new releases.  Don't delay.....the remaining sets will sell out fast.


Colin Whitehouse starts your Friday update with his 1/48 Italeri SR-71.  Colin's SR-71 came out looking very sharp.


Dzevad Comor has been busy building his 1/32 Revell Fw 190 D-9.  Dzevad built his 190 straight out of the box with fantastic results. 


Karel Slama is here today with 2 of his models.  Here are his  1/32 Hasegawa F-104 and 1/32 Revell Tornado.  Both of these fine looking models is finished in German markings.   


Darwin Justice has done a fine job building and finishing his  1/48 Tamiya P-47D Thunderbolt.  This is a fine model and Darwin did it up right with flawless results.  


I have a review of the  Uncovering the Boeing F/A-18 A/B/C/D Hornet book from Daco Publications.   If you like the F/A-18....then this is the book to get.


Angus McDonald is here with a review of the  1/72nd CMR H.S. Buccaneer S.MK.2A and S.MK.2B.  WOW.....this is quite the model.

Rafi Ben-Shahar joins us with his expertly built 1/48 Classic Airframes Gloster Meteor FR 8.   Rafi did find this Classic Airframes kit to be a bit of a struggle to complete, but the end results were well worth his effort.


Jon Keib joins us with his 1/144 Minicraft USAir MD80.  John finished his airliner with bare-metal-foil and the end results came out very well indeed.


El Rey has been busy getting the details right on his 1/72 Italeri MD-530F.  This little chopper has quite a few scratchbuilt parts and is finished in Mexican Air Force markings.


Lyle Brown is here today with his Goodyear FG-1D Artwork.   If you don't know the story of the Goodyear Corsairs.....look in the ARC Gallery Section.......it was quite the Corsair.

    Maldives Independence Day 

I just got home last night from an 8 day family road trip with my wife and daughters.....we covered 2500km.  The trip went very well but it's always nice to be home.  Needless to say I've got quite a few e-mails to catch up on.

Ralph Emerson "Shonen Red" Dabao starts your Thursday update with his very well done 1/48 Tamiya F4U-1D Corsair.  This model was built out of the box with excellent results.   


Steve Negley has done a great job building his 1/32 Trumpeter Mig-15 bis NATO Code "Fagot".   Steve did some scratchbuilding to improve the cockpit.  This particular plane has history that will interest Americans.....read Steve's article for more details.


Tigre del Aire joins us from Colombia with his 1/72 Hasegawa Macchi 202 Folgore.   This beautiful little model was built straight from the box.  


John Wolstenholme has done an exceptionally nice job building and detailing his  1/32 Tamiya F-15I Ra'am.  John goes into very helpful detail about the aftermarket goodies used to build this stunning jet.

I was having problems with my Internet connection yesterday and was unable to load an update.

Erwin Macalalad (IPMS Philippines Bert Anido) starts today with his 1/48 Accurate Miniatures IL-2 Sturmovik. Wow....you've got to check out the paint job on this one.  


Charles Leung is here with his 1/48 Trumpeter RA - 5C Vigilante.  Charles took this very nice kit and created a fine model of the Vigilante.  


Chuck Holte drops by today with his 1/72 NASA AH-1G.  No doubt about it.....this is a unique set of markings for this chopper.  This is an older kit....but that didn't atop Chuck from doing it up right. 


Louis Chang is here with his 1/72 Finemolds Star Wars X-Wing Fighter.  Louis chose the markings for Luke Skywalker for his great looking X-Wing fighter.

I have a review of the  1/48 or 1/72 Swiss Bf-109 D/E/G's decal sheet from Cutting Edge Modelworks.  This sheet features 13 different Bf-109's in markings for the Switzerland air force and comes in either 1/48 or 1/72.

Friday,  July 21  2006   Belgium Independence Day 

Laurent “Angus” Beauvais is here today with the 4th and final part of his 1/48 FM Lockheed PV1 Ventura article.  Today he deals with painting and weathering.  It is quite amazing how much work and effort went into this one model.


Dave Cornett has done an outstanding job building and finishing his 1/32 Hasegawa F-86F Sabre.  Dave used an aftermarket resin cockpit and finished off his Sabre in a first rate bare metal finish.  


Oishi Thailand has done a fine job building and detailing his 1/48 Airfix Bf-109 E.   This particular 109 is from the Battle of Britain and is finished in the markings for a famous Luftwaffe ace from this time period.


Mukund Vora joins us with 2 Russian built aircraft.  These are his 1/48 Revell Mig 25 and 1/48 OEZ Su-25....one finished in Syrian markings and the other in Iraqi markings.

Thursday,  July 20  2006   USA Moon Landing  First Human on the Moon 
I've posted up the ARC USA Nationals schedule.  This will tell you where we'll be gathering for meals and parties.  Click here for the schedule.  There will be slight revision leading up to the Nationals in August.

Scaledown is here to mark the Anniversary of Neil Armstrongs famous moon walk with a scratchbuilt 1/1 Neil Armstrong.  This particular lifesize model was built for a museum exhibit.   


Laurent “Angus” Beauvais is here with part 3 of his 1/48 FM Lockheed PV1 Ventura.  Today Laurent works on Assembling the Aircraft and Transparent parts.   


Emile van Aalst joins us for the first time on ARC with his sharp looking  1/72 Revell Hurricane.  Emile used quite a few techniques learned on ARC to finish his Hurricane.  Welcome to ARC Emile!!!   


Ed Okun joins us with his beautifully done 1/32 Hasegawa A4-E Skyhawk IAF.  Ed did many modifications to get the details correct on his IAF Skyhawk and these were done long ago before resin sets were available.

Delta Models has undergone some major changes and is now Blackbird Models and they have new bits out and on the way soon, due any time is the Swept Wing P-63 conversion in 1/72nd scale and there are items such as the Hs 293 missiles for the Revell he 177 kit, and also these for the planned He 111Z Attack Zwilling, hopefully out this next month.  Their new site and online store are at http://www.freewebs.com/blackbirdmodels

Louis Chang has dropped by with his desert camo 1/48 Mouve Kitty Hawk 3.  Louis added a resin cockpit and scratchbuilt details to get the details looking  just right on his Kitty Hawk.   


Indra Atmadja is here with the first model Indra's ever built.  This is the 1/72 Hasegawa F/A-18C Hornet complete with weathering techniques learned on ARC.  Very nicely done Indra......welcome to ARC!!!.

Friday,  July 14  2006     France National Day - Bastille Day 

Anton M. Alerte starts Bastille Day 2006 with his 1/48 Revell F-8E (FN) Crusader (D-Day).  Anton used decals from Albatross Modelworks and masked the stripes to get this sharp looking anniversary Crusader.


Dean Large has dropped by with his flawless 1/48 Hasegawa Hurricane Mk1.  This Hurricane was inspired by the movie “Battle of Britain” and Dean tells the whole story in his article.  


Marc "Grizzly" Anselmetti is here from France with his  1/32 RF4 C Phantom II.  Marc added a detail set and decals from Cutting Edge to improve the detail on his weathered Phantom.  


Mukund Vora joins us with his good looking 1/48 Revell Mil-24 Hind D.  Mukund had to do some extra work on his Hind and then finished it in a  unique and creative camo scheme.

Meteor Productions has 3 new 1/38 P-38 resin sets and one F-5 resin nose conversion set.  The P-38 sets include cockpit sets and a conversion set to make other variants than offered in the Trumpeter kit.


Ercan Karakas starts today with his very careful done 1/48 ICM Spitfire Mk VII.  Ercan finished his Spitfire with the engine and plenty of detail.  


Ed Okun joins us with his 1/32 Revell F4E/ Israeli airforce "Sabretooth #187".  Ed added resin seats and did a stellar job finishing this 1973 Yom Kippur war jet.   


Roger Luk has been busy building his 1/48 Testors Ryan PT-20.  Roger did quite a bit of extra work on this little beauty.  


Jan Harms is here today with his 1/48 Airfix BAe Hawk.  A very nice job on this very good kit from Airfix.

  Sao Tome and Principe Independence Day  

I am shocked, saddened and enraged by the senseless bombing of trains in India.  My thoughts and prayers go out to all affected by this horror.

Ákos Szabó begins today with his absolutely amazing 1/48 Revell Junkers Ju-88 D-1 in a crash landed diorama.   WOW!!!    


Jim Knight is here with his carefully done 1/48 Monogram F/A 18+ HornetJim finished his Hornet is VMFA-142 markings.   This is an older Monogram kit......which Jim spent a fair bit of effort on to upgrade it.


Christian "Full Metal" Page joins us today with his variety of Pin-Up Gallery.  If you like sexy nose art you'll love the selection of model Christian has here today.  


Mukund Vora is here with his very attractive 1/48 Academy Su-27 Flanker.   Mukund enjoyed this fine model kit and give it high marks for the quality of fit.  He turned out a very attractive Su-27.

I'm very pleased to report Eli Raphael is doing very well and is now processing orders for Zotz Decals.....so head on over there and buy some decals or just send him an e-mail to let him know you're glad he's recovering so well.  Good to have you back Eli.

Gianni Chirico has done a fine job building his 1/72 Hasegawa J2M3 Raiden.   Gianni added chipped paint and gun powder stains and other weathering to add life and realism to his WW2 Japanese fighter.


Jorge Paz has been busy getting the details right on his 1/48 Hasegawa F-4 Phantom.  This model represents a IDF Phantom from 1973 Yom Kippur war  complete with resin and scratchbuilt details and a weapons load and weathering.  


Gabriel Stern is back with another of his less common aircraft models.  This is the 1/72 AMT-ERTL Northrop X/YB 35 complete with some very well done details and a killer bare metal finish.....plus a darn good article to boot..   


Derek Derks has done an outstanding job building his 1/48 Airfix Blackburn Buccaneer RN.  Derek used plenty of after market detail sets to make this masterpiece.....but it still required much skill of Derek's part to pull off this project.  


I have a review of the  1/32 A-7D Hot Slufs Part 2 decal sheet from Cutting Edge Modelworks.  This sheet features 3 different A-7's.

  Congratulations to Italy for the World Cup Win!!!  


Ronny Wezel begins the week with his first article on ARC.  This is his 1/48 Revell F-4F Phantom II.  Ronny used aftermarket resin and decals and finished this beauty in Luftwaffe markings.  Welcome to ARC Ronny!!! 


Chuck Holte has done a fine job building his 1/72 Franklin PS-2 Gliders.  These are limited edition kits and Chuck has included history and full build details in his articles about building these attractive little gliders. 


Shaun Foo dropped by today with his first article on ARC.  This is his very well done 1/48 Academy Flanker B  and Shaun did this wonderful kit justice.   I enjoyed seeing his Flanker on ARC today.  Welcome to ARC Shaun!!!    


Gonzalo Vidal is here to make all the bent wings fans happy.  This is his 1/32 Trumpeter F4U-4 Corsair.  Gonzalo added extra detail to his Corsair and then finished it off with a stellar paint job and weathering.  


Les Wells is here with some photos from the IPMS Torbay & South Devon Show 2006.  This looks like it was one first rate show.

Shahrukh Ali begins today with his 1/48 Academy F-16C.  Shahrukh did an excellent job on his F-16 and you've got to see what paint he used.....a very creatuive solution to his shortage of a good local hobby shop. 


Tolga Ulgur joins us with his 1/48 Hasegawa Grumman Hellcat Mk II from FAA.  Tolga used some aftermarket goodies to get the details correct and finished off his Hellcat with one of his flawless weathering jobs.

Darrell Thompson begins today with his 1/48 Tamiya P-47D-11 Thunderbolt.  Darrell added some resin details parts and scratchbuilt items to get the details looking perfect....then he finished it up with a beautifully done paint scheme. 


Luc Harvey is here with his 1/72 Italeri Mig-29.  Luc chose markings for an Eritrean Mig to finish off his very nice jet.

  London Subway Bombing Anniversary  

Sertaç Bayar has been busy improving his 1/48 Italeri F-5A Freedom Fighter.  Sertaç  then finished his F-5 in Turkish Air Force markings and added a diorama.


John Bergquist is here with his  first article on ARC today.  This is his  1/48 ProModeler Ju-87R-2 Stuka.  John  has done a fine job building his Stuka.  Welcome to ARC John.


Louis Chang has dropped by with his 1/72 Finemolds Tie Fighter.  This one was built out of the box......this will give you a very nicely detailed model.  


Jeff Thomsen has done a stunning job building and improving his 1/48 Hasegawa F6F-5 Hellcat Blue Angels.   Jeff also includes some early history of the Blue angels.  


Vjekoslav Ranec is here with his Su-30 Flanker Artwork.  This is very realistic looking.....well done Vjekoslav.


I have a review of the  1/48 Farewell Tomcats #2 decal sheet from Yellow Hammer Decals.   This sheet features 2 different F-14's.

Steve Brauning begins today with his 1/48 Blohm und Vos BV141B diorama that he calls The Eyes of the Eastern Front .  Pretty cool diorama.


Jürgen Knizia is here with his very well done 1/32 Tamiya F-4CJürgen finished his Phantom is Spanish air force markings and added plenty of extra detailing.


Thierry Jacques joins us with his French air Force 1/72 Hasegawa Beaufighter.   Thierry did a fine job building this very nice kit to create an excellent looking model.


Yvan Vansteenkiste has done a excellent job on his 1/32 Trumpeter MIG-29 Fulcrum.   Wow....this is Mig came out looking very nice indeed.

Philip A. Stelzer begins today with his Luft 76.  This is a light hearted what if model....quite the creative concept.  


Jaroslav Král has done a fine job on his 1/72 Airfix Halifax B.III diorama.  This one came out looking very good.  


Pavan K Vadlamudi is here with his 1/48 KitTech and IAF SU30MK.  Pavan tells about building his nicely done Su-30 in his article. 


Frank Crenshaw is here with a review of the 1/32 resin F-86  120 Gallon Combat Drop Tanks from Cutting Edge Modelworks.

Mark Buchler joins us with his beautifully done 1/48 Tamiya P-47D Thunderbolt.   Mark did pre-shading on his P-47 and finished this gem with sexy noseart.


Rafi Ben-Shahar is here with two of his 1/48 Grumman Hellcat F6F-3s....one with a resin wingfold set installed.  Very nice as always Rafi.   


Andy Frill has dropped by with his 1/48 Monogram F4U-5N Corsair.  Andy built his well done Corsair out of the box and finished it with pastel chalk weathering. 


Max Trout is here with his  first article on ARC today.  This is his  1/48 Tamiya F4F-4 Wildcat.  You'll find this article fun to read.  Welcome to ARC Max....nice looking Wildcat!!!  


Girolamo Lorusso has put quite a bit of effort super detailing his 1/32 Trumpeter A-10A.   Wow!!!


Stewart Gordon is here with a photos of his award winning 1/32 Tamiya F-4 Phantom II.   


Eric Bade has done a wonderful job weathering his 1/72 Hasegawa Grumman F-14D Tomcat.   Eric goes into some very helpful detail for building his F-14.  Excellent as always Eric.


Sahdev Gahlay has done a fine job building his 1/48 Revell-Monogram F-15E Strike Eagle.  Good to see Sahdev.  


Jaroslav Hajecek joins us with his 1/48 Academy F16N.  Jaroslav did a very careful job on the cockpit  which gave him flawless results.....he also did some pre-shading before his final painting.


Ken Middleton has been busy building his 1/48 Testors F/A-18A Hornet.  This is a special F-18 Ken built....he explains some of the features of building his very nice F-18 in his article.  


Bill Dedig has done a gallant attempt at building the 1/48 Italeri F-22.  Bill built it out of the box and ended up with a great looking example of the newest American fighter.

Gianni Chirico starts your week with his nicely done 1/72 ICM Iljushin I-1 (IL-400b).  This  is an odd looking little aircraft....nice one Gianni.  


Dave Bächi is 15 years old and joins us from Switzerland with his first model on ARC.  This beautifully finished 1/72 Revell Eurofighter Typhoon is a treat to see.  Welcome to ARC Dave!!!   


Julian Schüngel has been busy scratchbuilding details on his 1/48 Italeri Bell EH-1H Super-Huey, CDF.  This well done chopper is a model of an actual fire fighting chopper.  


Jong-ho Park is here with his big impressive and well detailed 1/32 Trumpeter Su-27.   This is quite the big beautiful model.

Pieter Posthumus begins today with his 1/32 Revell F 104 S.   Pieter did quite a bit of scratchbuilding on his Starfighter and gave it a humourous paint scheme.


Louis Chang has been busy building his 1/48 Mauve P-40N.   Louis added scratchbuilt cockpit and landing gear details to complete his P-40.
