Cyril Worley has put in lots of work and taken the 1/24 Airfix Hawker Hurricane Mk1 to a whole new level.  As you will see in the photos, Cyril has scratchbuilt the fuselage tube frame and all the wiring and plumbing.  This is as close in detail as you can get to the real 1/1 machine and I know you will enjoy seeing the photos of this BOB Hurricane.  Spectacular work Cyril.

Gerson Garcia is here with an Iraqi jet from the Gulf War you don't see very often.  This is his beautifully finished 1/48 Academy MIG-29UB “Fulcrum B” wearing a non-desert blue/gray camo which looks excellent.  It's cool to see this Iraqi MiG-29.

Dragan Cvetic found the 1/72 BPK Challenger CL-143L to be a difficult kit to build, but it sure does build into a stunning model.  Dragan chose the livery for the US Coast Guard which looks very attractive on this particular jet.

Straker65 has done a marvelous job detailing and weathering his 1/72 Trumpeter J-8II/F-8II Finback-B.  Straker65 upgraded the cockpit detail and then shaded the panel lines with an amazing weathering  job.

Bill Dedig is here with one of the best known aircraft mysteries of the 20th century.  This is Bill's 1/53 Lockheed 10 Electra “Amelia Earhart Aircraft” with a full scratchbuilt interior and added engine detailing.  Bill gave it a top notch bare metal finish and for that final touch he has a paper map sitting on one of the wings.

Victor Rene Carlos is here with one of the most famous F-16's of all time.  This is his 1/72 Academy F-16A with the loadout for the Israeli mission "Operation Opera" for the bombing of the nuclear plant in Iraq.  Victor did quite the impressive job on this one with an excellent weathering job.

Dragan Cvetic has got his 1/72 Hasegawa Kfir C2 looking perfect.  He upgraded his Kfir by rescribing the panel lines and adding revits and some scratchbuilt details to the cockpit.  His paint work and weathering is flawless and the weapons load shows the true intent of this Israeli jet.  I love how it looks..

Carmel J. Attard joins us with something quite unique today.  This is his 1/72 Frog Whitley Mk V BOAC freighter built with plenty of added effort with amazing results.  As you can imagine, Carmel used his usual magic to rework and improve the ol' Frog kit into something truly exceptional.  He tells the harrowing history of these freighters.  Carmel's article is an enjoyable and informative read and the photos of the model are a treat to see.

Shawn phantom Weiler is here with a real beauty today.  This is his 1/48 Academy F-4J Phantom #196 in the hi-viz markings for the VF-143 Puking Dogs using Furball decals.  No doubt about it, this Phantom is eye catching.

Gerson Garcia gets today started with a beauty.  This is his 1/48 Italeri MIG-23MF “Flogger-B” wearing Syrian markings and camo using Begemot Decals.  I love the look of the desert camo on this MiG.

Thomas Brückelt is here with something I guarantee you will not see often.  This is his scratchbuilt 1/72 Lippisch FG 10 on Panther which is a radio controlled flying bomb based on the Me 163 Komet.  Thomas built a mobile launch platform and mounted that on a  Panther Chassis.  This bomb is a paper project from 1941 that never made it into production.  It's quite fascinating to see the photos and read Thomas' article.  A very cool model Thomas.

Dragan Cvetic is here with a first on ARC.  This is his 1/72 Amodel Beechcraft C-12J that he found to be very challenging to build.  Dragan does not back away from a challenging kit and he finished this one to a very high quality and finished it in USAF livery.  A cool plane to see.

Dragan Cvetic has done a stellar job on his 1/72 Revell JAS-39 Gripen.  Dragan added a scratchbuilt HUD and seat belts to dress up the cockpit and finished his Gripen in South African Air Force markings with weathering to better show the panel lines.  It looks perfect.

Klaasjan Schuuring has done a gorgeous job building and finishing his 1/48 Tamiya Bristol Beaufighter MK.VIThis is an RAF machine finished with very skillfully applied panel line preshading.  Klaasjan used very successful technique for his paint chipping that he explains in his article.  Very nicely done indeed.

Gil Costa has captured the dirty look very well on his 1/48 Great Wall Hobby MiG-29SMT.  Gil added some scratchbuilt detailing to the cockpit and landing gear wells and then chose a great looking camo scheme before giving his MiG a stellar weathering jobs that gives this jet a very realistic look.  Enjoy the photos, I sure did.

Paolo Yuen begins today with his exceptional 1/72 Hasegawa Su-33.  Paolo added a resin cockpit and exhaust and nose cone to improve the detail and accuracy of his Flanker.  Paolo's detailing is flawless and he further added dropped flaps before finishing his jet in Russian markings with a stunning camo scheme with just the perfect amount of weathering.

Bob Leonard is here with a unique looking design.  This is his 1/72 Amodel P.180 Avanti, which is a twin engined pusher aircraft in Italian Coast Guard markings.  Bob found this to be a limited run kit needing a bit of love to complete it into the lovely model in Bob's photos.  The red and white Servizio Aereo della Guardia Costiera paint scheme works very well with this unique looking aircraft.  I love the look of it.

Javier Johnson did quite a bit of work to create an accurate Ecuadorian Cheetah C.  This is his 1/48 Kinetic/Scaleworx Cheetah C using added modifications thanks to Scaleworx to get all the finer details correct.  Javier then used his skills to give his Cheetah a carefully applied weathering job.  It's good to see this Ecuadorian on ARC.

Mike Muth joins us with his Triplane figher from WW1.  This is his 1/32 Wingnut Wings Sopwith Triplane that suffered a nasty crash and was rebuilt by Mike markings that come with some very interesting history that Mike explains in his article.  The Wing Nut Wing model kits set a whole new standard and Mike's work makes this kit shine in all it's glory.  It's a treat to see this Triplane on ARC.

Straker65 has done an outstanding job detailing and weathering his 1/72 Revell MiG-21 F-13.  Straker65 used resin and photo etch aftermarket items from Aires,  Quickboost, Pavla and Eduard to detail his MiG to a very high level.  Then it was finished with the perfect amount of weathering.

Thomas Brückelt is here with another model in his Lippisch P.01 series here on ARC.  This is his scratchbuilt 1/72 Lippisch P.01-117 that was partly made with a 3D printer and good old fashioned scratchbuilding.  This was an actual proposal that never made it into production.

Dragan Cvetic had quite the busy time closing up all the doors on his impressive 1/144 Zvezda IL-76.  Dragan has done a flawless job finishing this IL-76 and I love the look of the finished model.  He darkened the panel lines to add further detail with very good results.

Mark L. Rossmann is here with a historic MiG-15.  This is his 1/32 Trumpeter MiG-15bis with a resin cockpit and finished as the Polish MiG-15 flown to the west by a defector.  Mark got the bare metal finish on his MiG looking just right.  Beautiful work Mark.

George Oh joins us from Australia this Silly Week with his very funny The Eggstraterrestrials diorama.  Of course this puts a whole new slant on the question "What came first the chicken or the egg?"  It seems chickens are space aliens.

Kees Kuyper has pulled together a very cool project for Silly Week.  This is his Messerschmitt Seaplane with extra thought put into the smaller details.  This does look like it would be a rear float plane.

Carmel J. Attard is here with his Moynet Jupiter 360-6 in Canadian markings.  Carmel scratchbuilt this twin engined model and then finished it in What-if Canadian markings with a stellar weathering job.  It looks quite realistic.

Kees Kuyper has created one of the best looking gliders I have ever seen.  This is his 1/32 Duodiscus glider "The Tion" looking very sleek.  I love the look of it and the Dutch civilian markings.

Dave 'The Rat' Bailey is here with his second model for Silly Week.  This is his Indonesian Breguet Alize made from a Heller kit and what does Dave think of the kit......well you REALLY need to read his article for his comical opinion.  Good one Dave.

Kees Kuyper gets today started with 2 of his very creative designs for the 1/72 Revell Osprey "less complex".  One is an America bird and the other is a Dutch Osprey.  Read his article and check out his photos....I think his designs are loaded with very creative and realistic looking engineering.

Oxiel Carrizo has put quite a bit of effort into improving the detail on his F-16 Viper eggplane.  This F-16 is wearing Chilean markings and has quite a bit of scratchbuilt work done to it to make it more accurate and detail rich.  I love the in-flight photos of it.

Kees Kuyper has created a very cool looking 1/72 Hobbyboss Harvard/Texan on floats.  This is a Search and Rescue float plane of the Dutch Navy.  The floats came from a different kit but do seem to fit the Harvard/Texan very well.

Dragan Cvetic is here with a classic tank.  This is his 1/35 Tamiya T-55A Yugoslav Peoples Army with a flawless weathering job giving quite the realistic look.  I do admire the job he did on this piece of armor.

Kees Kuyper is here with a very funny what-if model.  This is his Mitsubishi Dinahsaurus, which is a Mitsubishi Dinah with the head of a dinosaur for the nose of the aircraft.  Kees explains this secret plane and how it was used during WW2.  I love it.

Ryan Gay joins us from Switzerland with his 3rd model on ARC.  This is his 1/24 Revell 1968 VW Käfer finished as a dirty daily driver complete with Swiss plates.  We all have memories of the early 70's VW Bug and it is a treat to see this one on ARC today.  Very nicely done Ryan.

James Maloney got creative with the digital camo on his "What if" Wolferine.  It's funny, but this little aircraft looks quite plausible.  Thanks for sharing James.

Kees Kuyper is here not with an aircraft....but a really fast ground vehicle.  This is his Lockheed Streetfighter of the U.S. Army.  Read his article for the full story.  This is a very creative concept.

Cuba  -  Anniversary of the Revolution

Haiti Independence Day

Sudan  Independence Day

Welcome to Silly Week 2018!!!  This is an ARC tradition to begin the New Year on a lighter note to help set the tone for a "Happy" New Year and to assist some people that might be falling into post holiday depression.  Pretty well anything goes except serious aircraft models during Silly Week.....so what-if and car and armour and motorbikes and figure etc are what you will see.  Enjoy and keep smiling!!!

Kees Kuyper gets Silly Week 2018 off to a fantastic start with his very creative 1/32 Revell Duodiscus glider “Flying Orange”.  Kees is a master kit basher and this beauty comes direct from his amazing design studio.

Dave 'The Rat' Bailey is an old time regular on the ARC Silly Week each January and I'm proud and excited to see him back here in 2018.  This is his North American T-6 Weta divebomber...think "baby dauntless" flown by Kiwi's and you are on the right track.  Read Dave's full story for the details

Bill Arnold is another regular to Silly Week.  He has a passion for egg planes and other such models.  This is his Meng Tiger 1 in true Egg style.  Bill shaded it and built it to the exacting standards you would expect on a model rich in accuracy and detail...and I admire that about Bill.  Click the link at the bottom of his article to see all of his models on ARC...you will not be disappointed.

Kees Kuyper has done some crazy kit bashing with his Douglas DC-3 and a half Superdakota.  Look carefully and you will see a bit of Fw 200 in this model along with a Dc-3 with a nose wheel and plenty of wonderful wild ideas.  Oddly enough...this reminds me of a Connie.

Yvan Vansteenkiste starts today with his very detailed 1/32 Trumpeter Su-25B.  Yvan used Eduard photo etch to add some amazing detail to the cockpit and then gave his Su-25 a Russian camo scheme complete with noseart.  This Su-25 is a ground attack aircraft and Yvan equipped his jet with a full weapons load to show the primary purpose of this Russian jet.  This big scale certainly permits some great cockpit detailing as you will see in his photos.

Angelo M Picardo has been busy scratchbuilding interior detail for the classic 1/32 Matchbox PUMA HC1.  Angelo did add some aftermarket detail to the cockpit, but the vast bulk bulk of the interior detailing including scratchbuilt quilting was done old school.  The markings and shaded/faded camo are for an RAF machine.  I love it.

Gerson Garcia is here in style with his 1/48 Revell F-15E “Strike Eagle”.  Gerson finished his Strike Eagle as a jet based at RAF Lakenheath with a loadout that shows the multi-role capabilities of the F-15E.  Nicely done indeed.

Dragan Cvetic has done a first class job on his 1/72 Hasegawa F-111G.  This is an Aussie Aardvark with dropped flaps, beautifully weathered panel lines and great looking tailart.  It's good to see Dragan's Aardvark on ARC.  It's good to feature this model on the Aussie "Proclamation Day" in South Australia.

Choi Hongseob joins us from Korea with his first model on ARC.  This is a beautifully 1/72 Academy Focke-wulf Fw190 A-8 wearing winter camo.  This is a first try at airbrushing and the paint work came out looking perfect.  I love the way it looks.

Luqmanul Hakim A.K.A Mee Wan did some added converting to convert his F-86F to the 1/72 HobbyBoss CA-27 Avon Sabre.  The finished model was then finished as a Malaysian Air Force jet with a skillfully applied weathering job that just adds perfectly to the realism of this Sabre.

Gerson Garcia starts today with quite the eye catching 1/48 Academy Sukhoi Su-27 “Flanker B”.   Gerson used aftermarket decals to finish his Flanker as a Ukrainian fighter.  I love the look of the blue camo.

Rafael Pelizzon has been visiting ARC for 15 years and today he is here from Brazil with his first model on ARC.  This is Rafael's big 1/35 Academy UH-60L Blackhawk finished in Brazilian camo and markings.  Rafael added quite a bit of scratchbuilt detail and then finished in in an expertly faded camo scheme.  Fantastic work Rafael, welcome to ARC's home page.

Patrick Vossenberg did a stellar job building and detailing his 1/72 RV Aircraft MiG-21MF.  This model kit requires a bit of effort but as you will see in Patrick's photos, it does build into a first class model.  Patrick finish his jet in eye catching Romanian AF markings and camo.

Today is Boxing Day and also Saint Stephen's Day.....yup....I feel special.

WW1 Events - this date in 1917

Dirk Schenk joins us here with his 2 seat 1/72 Airfix Vampire T.11.  Dirk found this to be a very nice kit and as you will see in his photos, it does build into a great looking model.  Dirk gave his Vampire some added cockpit detailing and finished it off as a bare metal jet in South African Air Force markings.  Beautiful work Dirk.

Tolga Ülgür has done impressive detailing and weathering on his big 1/32 Hasegawa P-40 E Warhawk “Old Exterminator”.  Tolga added resin exhausts and cockpit photo etch and aftermarket decals for a P-40 that flew out of India against the Japanese.  He then gave it a flawless weathering job to give it an amazing level of realism.
